Dress to wear for a wedding in the US this winter

Could anyone help me find a dress to wear for a wedding in the US that I'm going to in a few weeks time? The weather will be around 10 degrees, probably dry. The bride told me most women guests will wear cocktail dresses, and will need a sweater or jacket in case they get cold. Secular wedding, relatively informal. We've been told to wear flat shoes/boots so we can walk across grass, which suits me fine as I can't wear heels.

I'm a size 12. 5'5". Big boobs, ok legs from the knees down so long as I'm wearing thick tights! Don't want to flaunt my arms. High waisted. 42. Bit mumsy. I tend to look matronly in high necks, and a lot of the dresses I've seen that I like have a high neck. I'm better in a v neck (or if a round neck maybe with a v-neck cardie or jacket to break up the shelf!).

Any ideas?

It's been suggested a million times on here before but the pied a terre slinky knot dress with sleeves really is lovely and flattering, and I think pretty timeless. Currently on offer at HOF too.

Ooh, that's nice! I've never worn a body-con dress before. I've had 4 children although from the appearance of my tummy, you'd think I'd had 8. Is it easy to wear? Supportive tights? Strapless bra?

You can sort of adjust the neckline so you can wear a normal bra with it, and while it's bodycon it isn't mega clingy. The ruching over the tummy is v flattering. I don't own it but tried it on and really really want an excuse to buy it but never go anywhere fancy enough these days

Thanks Smile
I don't have a House of Fraser nearby so I'll mail order it and see how it is.
