What do we think of Urban Outfitters?

I was in there the other week just looking at their sale items (picked up a leather wristlet and 2 more for presents), black lace knickers, swing black and gold print vest going out top for SIL present and black skirt with silver patterns (sorry no links) for me.

SIL really got me into them - she likes Pins and Needles and Sparkle and Fade brands. I got a gorgeous black and silver sweater for festive season just before Xmas (reduced) and SIL and her SIL both wanted one too (we stayed together over Xmas). They're both 26 and 31 respectively but trendy. We often go to the sale section as it has the most amazing bargains - their normal stuff is nice too but sometimes a bit too dear or out there for my liking.

I also like the fact you can pick up novelty items, gifts, records (in Oxford Street branch), mens and womenswear, good trainer section etc. I can easily find presents for SIL, brother, their SIL and brother etc and tons of other young uns.

anyway any more likers of UO?

I've occasionally found things I love in there, so go in occasionally. I have a few dresses by Silence and Noise from a couple of years ago - not sure if they're still there. There's quite a lot of polyester/acrylic crap and weird stuff I'd never wear, but the same could be said of most high st shops. They have some lovely unusual jewellery. I was in there last week and got my 13 year old cousin a great ring and bracelet and some sparkly socks. And got myself a pretty lunch box :)

Like you Elizabeth I've found some nice things in there (some jeggings that never seemed to go baggy) and a couple of dresses but generally quite pricey for what it is.

DH buys his jeans in there from obscure brands. Swears by them.

Some of the things I love some of the other stuff I steer clear off & leave to the teenagers. It's a shop I still go in & order online from & I also like some of their home and novelty stuff

Pins & Needles, Sparkle & Fade and The Cooperative would be the brands I tend to buy the most from there.

Oh, and I'm 35

They do some lovely stuff but some awful stuff too! Usually find good bits in the sale and I agree I can always find good gifts in there too. I ordered a rug from UO online yesterday actually! It was 20% off and £1 delivery Grin

CaroBeaner · 02/12/2013 16:37

Some good stuff, but it is wildly over priced.

Quite a few years ago I bought a military style lambswool jumper from there in a tweedy green I wore it all the time it cost about £45 then I got another one in the sale but different colour. Wore both cardigans till they fell apart not seen any jumpers on their website as good since. It was people tree brand.

People Tree

I ordered some sandals from UO but haven't been to a shop yet as one has only just opened in the city centre and I haven't been in. I'm going to look on Monday.

ElizabethBathory · 02/12/2013 20:45

People Tree are great :)

I like their home lines, for the odd silly item.
