Where can I find beautiful big scarves? (for me!)

Lovely big wide ones - like a more modern pashmina (very ten years ago I know..) - cashmere or soft fabric that looks full and warm and doesn't wrinkle into a rotten little rag after a few hours of wearing?

One that I could wear in the house with jumpers or out with a coat.

I would like one as a Christmas present. Am bored of buying things for everyone else and not thinking about what I would like!

Becksondergaard, try TKMaxx they have nice ones down from about 75 to 20.

Loads on eBay for £5 or so

I have one of these in bright pink and it is gorgeous (silk/cotton).

I wear it summer and winter - I'd love one in a darker colour too. They are big and light, soft but warm. I love the plain strong colour made interesting with the pom poms.

Becksondergaard, Plumo, Hush. Totally agree width of scarves is v important! Lovely friend bought me a cashmere one for my birthday, but it's so short and thin it just shrinks to nothing when I wrap it round my neck and looks rubbish. Such a waste of cashmere!

Boodles, I have looked in three tk maxxes in London, no sign of the elusive Becksondergaard scarves. Would you mind sharing if you've seen any in a London branch? Thank you!

boodles · 02/12/2013 18:58

Sorry Apatite, I got mine in the Bristol Tk.

trulyenoughnow · 02/12/2013 20:10

I would recommend oilily. They have (had)some incredible quality mulberry silk scarves that are supersoft, timeless and elegant. I have had mine for 4 years and i still get compliments about it all the time. I have since bought 2 more from ebay, but from an international seller, on ebay.nl where oilily stuff is cheaper. And it's massively wide and pashmina ish, so has been used as a scarf, sarong, baby blanket, kids den (!) etc. hth

basilfotheringtonthomas · 02/12/2013 20:11

Massimo Dutti always have that kind of think in lovely prints/colours.

AmazingDisgrace · 02/12/2013 20:38

Asos had Becksondergaard reduced recently

Levantine · 02/12/2013 21:39

Zara worth a look too tho quality of fabric needs to be checked

timidviper · 02/12/2013 22:25

I got Becksondergaard scarves for Xmas presents from ASOS. I bought one at £25 then found a while later that they had different designs at £10-ish although I haven't worn one yet so don't know if the quality is different, what the material is really like or how it'll wear.

GreatSoprendo · 02/12/2013 23:14

Definitely the Becksondergaard ones from Asos. They've had some great bargains lately and still a few nice designs left here. I bought 5 to give for Christmas presents, but ended up keeping 3 for myself!

elizabethtailored · 03/12/2013 10:09

OOh - thank you everyone. I love the big starry Plumo and Becksondergaard ones - have ordered three cheapy ones from ASOS as a start. Hopefully I will find one I am happy with.

So pretty.

Apatite1 - I work in the City and have bought Becksondergaard scarves in the St Mary Axe (opposite the Gherkin) and Gracechurch Street (neat the Monument) branches. As always with TK Maxx they don't often have them but I tend to browse once a week in my lunch hour.

Apatite1 · 03/12/2013 13:57

Thanks anyway boodles!

Will check out those branches out thanks 101!

wispawoman · 04/12/2013 18:47

Does anyone have any ideas where to by a wide Royal Stewart tartan scarf (more of a pashmina size really). The ones I have found are too narrow.

MissBetseyTrotwood · 04/12/2013 21:24

ebay.
