Can a one explain BB creams versus CC creams

I can't figure it out at all. I have mature, dry, pale skin if that makes any difference and normally use a tinted moisturiser but thought I might be missing out. What should I buy?

I'm not sure either. I tried a Garnier BB cream once that made look like I'd been embalmbed in Tango so I avoided them for ages afterwards. But I've recently had much success with an Estee Lauder BB cream and its brilliant. I also have pale, mature skin.

Thanks banana so is it just like a tinted moisturiser? Do you use over a moisturiser instead of make up?

Useful to know about the Garnier tango effect, thanks for that.

They are all just fancy tinted moisturisers.

I don't say that as a bad thing. A good tinted moisturiser is good. But the BB/CC stuff is just branding, because "tinted moisturiser" sounds like something you got a free sample of on the front of Shout when you were 12.

Yes I just tone/moisturise/whatever as usual, then this goes on where I'd normally be using foundation. But yes, I suppose it is a glorified tinted moisturiser, except it does provide a pretty good but still light coverage with SPF protection too, which I like. I've been quite impressed with it. I use the light colour which is not orange or shiny. My lovely mum got me into it.

Also meant to say sometimes I dust on a bit of Loreal True Match over the top if I have time.

Thanks, that's useful. I think I won't be missing anything by staying with my Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser then. I have a tendency to try new things when I am perfectly happy with what I already have.

I have recently bought No7 cc cream and love it. Lovely natural looking light coverage.
