Modern equivalent of Avon Little Blossom???

Is there such a thing???

I had lots of the Little Blossom stuff when I was a little girl and would like to buy something similar for DD1 for Christmas (in hopes of keeping her sticky fingers out of my makeup bag) but all I can find is horrible tacky makeup sets that are, to my mind, crappy quality and intended for much older children. The Little Blossom stuff was just for play, very little colour in it (e.g. cream blusher that was red in the box but didn't show up on the cheeks, sheer pink nail polish, red lip balms that didn't have any colour in when applied, very light fresh perfume that just smelled a bit like baby powder etc). I don't want a huge case of makeup with proper colour to it (DD1 is too young IMO) but something harmless and nice quality - if it exists! Enlighten me if you have found such a range anywhere... Thanks. Smile

I remember Little Blossom stuff! How about Maybelline Baby Lips (even the 'red' one barely shows up and is very similar to the LB) and Dream Touch Blush (creamy, comes in a cute pot) with a little bottle of Cacherel's Anais Anais (it's a light powdery floral).

I wasn't too sure about child safe polish, but I looked into it and these look really cute:

You could put it in a cute little makeup bag of your choosing.

Oh, here's a UK seller for Snails. I'd wear some of those colours!

Thanks for the ideas, the nail polishes look really nice but a bit at the price tag! I might wait til she's a bit older, I think she is a bit young to have something at that price when she might well pour it away/spill a lot of it. Perhaps she is just too young for this sort of thing full stop.

I've bought my dd Annick Goutal's "petit cherie" perfume, just a tiny bottle, as she loves to put scent on, so I want it to be good! I have also bought her glittery pale eyeshadow, but she is only allowed it for dress up play, not to wear out anywhere. I loved the Avon animal shaped bottles of scent when I was little, I wish they still made something similar too.

I loved this when I was younger. Maybe we should bug Avon into re-releasing it? Grin

I have searched and searched and can't find anything equivalent or even similar Sad. Maybe I should buy the brand name and start a new business empire...? Wink

Hey emsyj, did you end up finding something suitable. I used to love the stuff too and would love to buy something similar for my little love

Rahrahrahrahannoyed · 18/08/2022 13:54

Never tried it but 'miss Nella' children's safe makeup keeps popping up as an ad on insta for me.
I have no need for it but it's very much something you would be looking for. There's also another one but I don't remember it.

Thank you. Looks cute 🥰

Perhaps just buy her some lip balms and let her experiment with those. At such a young age imagination is the majority of the pleasure of it anyway and you can easily go into the likes of superdrug and choose non tinted or lightly tinted balms in flavours and packaging that would appeal to little girls, ditto soaps and body lotions, a compact, a little bag for them etc.

I got a little blossom lip balm in my stocking every year in the early 90's and treasured it but definitely recall it being red, strawberry scented and tinted because I got it all over everything.

You could always buy some old fashioned style bottles and decant your own lotions etc into them and I bet she'd love it.

Alternatively Claire's accessories is worth a browse.
