Got my Ugg Noiras... Not sure about them

Hi,

In a moment of reckless decisiveness I ordered a pair of Ugg Noiras online as they had 25% off. It is still the most money I have spent on boots ever.

I wanted a warm flat pair of waterproof boots and from everything I read these should fit the bill. I reasoned if they were comfortable and did everything I wanted they would be worth the money... I'm just not sure they are!

I can afford them (although it is a massive treat!). They are comfortable and I quite like the way they look but don't seem that warm. Is it just because I'm inside and am not feeling the benefit (as my mum would say)?

I currently have a pair of very scuffed pair of Clarks boots that are about 7 years old and are too small for my calves now and a pair of suede boots I got from ebay last year when I realised the calves had grown. I currently wear my walking boots when it is really wet, snowy or icy as they are the only ones up to the weather. I was really looking forward to a lovely pair of boots that would make me feel good and warm so feel a bit disappointed...

Argh!! I hate shoe/boot shopping!!

I'm wearing them around the house tonight to help me decide if I should return them or not, but thought I'd see what you all thought too.

Oh they are warm! I have notoriously cold feet and my Noiras were absolutely perfect in several inches of snow and minus c-c-cold temperatures. Waterproof too. Made dog walks a dream.

Cocktailsorcakes · 29/11/2013 22:04

And should they be so hard to put on and take off?

My feet fit fine once they are on but they take a hell of a lot of forcing in (& out!)!

Is this right?

I love mine so much so I have ordered another pair . They are really really warm and comfy and waterproof !!! Keep them .

bishboschone · 29/11/2013 22:10

And yes , the fluff will flatten down and thy will become easier to put on .

BigArea · 29/11/2013 22:15

I LOVE [http://www.shoewawa.com/2011/12/ugg_boots_get_a.html my Uggs]] (and am v chuffed to realise they were designed in collaboration with Mr Choo!). IIRC I bought a size up because they were a bit tight in my normal size. OK just checked and I wear a Clarks 5.5 - my Uggs are a EU 39 which shows on the label as UK 6.5. So I def went up a size.

BigArea · 29/11/2013 22:15

Urgh should have previewed! link again

Cocktailsorcakes · 30/11/2013 08:03

It's not the fluff that is the problem. It's the leather - its so stiff and I seem to have to contort my feet into weird positions while really pulling them on (or off).

Is this normal?

I think I read on here to size up which is what I did. I found them easy to put on and pull off. Sounds like yours may be too small?

Cocktailsorcakes · 30/11/2013 08:31

I think if I size up they will be too big when my feet are in as there's a generous amount of space for my feet when I get them on.

Looks like returning may be the best option.

So if not these what else do people reccomend as a warm waterproof boot?

I have lots of uggs . I when I ordered them initially I ordered 4.5 and 5.5 as my feet are awkward . I settled on the 4.5 as the 5.5 were really big and I figured they would stretch which thy have .. They are stiff to put on but that gets easier .. I love mine .

bishboschone · 30/11/2013 08:33

I will add I have classic uggs in 4.5 which seem bigger . I also have the leather ones ( Tatum ) which I bought the 5.5 as they are narrower so I you have classics then stick with that size .

BigArea · 30/11/2013 08:50

cocktails just to add my uggs (link above) have zips - maybe that's what you need. Not sure whether they do any other styles with a zip but might be worth checking

bishboschone · 30/11/2013 09:25

Grandle have zips and are cheaper and waterproof I think.

SteppedOnaFrog · 30/11/2013 11:59

Try Rocket Dog sugar daddy, mendy, slope or Hazel. They are easy to get on,warm and waterproof when spray protected. Very comfortable too. I bought mine (mendy) on eBay and they were £35. This style comes up narrower than the rest but I have a wide foot and chunky calf and they are seriously comfortable. Amazon on their deals are doing the others for around £30 and the reviews rave about them too.

SteppedOnaFrog · 30/11/2013 12:02

Softinos are also warm and waterproof and wide on the calf as are the art company boots.

bishboschone · 03/12/2013 19:05

Did you keep them OP? I got my new ones today and they are definitely tighter to get on.. It took me ages to get the beggars on!!

SilverLining · 03/12/2013 20:44

Another vote for Grandle - I love mine. Perfect for the school run, waterproof & warm. The Noira looked like wellies on me but I do have big feet! The Grandle is just a slimmer boot for me & works better!

Love Uggs
