What colour shoes with grey trousers?

I always struggle to decide what colour shoes / boots to wear with my grey work trousers. At the moment I'm going with bland old black but hopefully you lot can enlighten me.

I think grey looks a bit too matchey, I don't think tan / brown goes with grey. Am I missing something obvious?

I've recently bought some gorgeous burgundy brogues from Dune, which I wear with my grey work trousers. In some lights they're more purple.

I love them.

navy? red? burgundy? teal? leopard print?

I love red with grey.

I tend to wear black but wine, plum shades lovely with grey.

Burgundy with dark grey.

I wore grey suede boots with my grey trousers and someone thought I was wearing slippers.

Depends what else you're wearing, but yeah, if it's a colour (i.e. not black or brown), it'll probably go.

Ohhh great thanks everyone. I have some burgundy and red shoes so will have to give them a try in summer when I'm out of my boots. Don't think I'll buy burgundy or red boots though
