Hi, I'm thinking about getting a pair of straighteners for my 16yo niece but Id rather not to spend £100 pound son ghd, as she is a typical teenager throwing her things around and she's on out of 7 nieces/nephew I have to buy for. I remember reading her eabout other straighteners which were pretty good...which ones are they please...

Remmington Pearl £42 are really good IMO and have seen them recommended on here and other sites.

I went to Remington's after several GHDs. I have ridiculously thick, strong hair and didn't think I would find any that worked as well as the GHDs but the Remington's are great and have lasted loads longer.

Remington are fab
Also I have a pair of Nicky Clarke's think they were about 50 and have an auto turn off after 60 mins so no fear of them accidentally being left on

FracturedViewOfLife · 26/11/2013 23:12

The pearls also have auto shut off after 60 mins.

I have tre-semme ceramic straighteners. Got them from tesco for £25 about a year ago. They are every bit as good as ghds (owned ghds for years before that)

Remington Pearls....its a no brainer. Mine beat my daughters brand new GHD's hands down.
