I had "permanent" HD eyebrows done once, made me look like an Angry Bird so I came home and scrubbed them off with a baby wipe. Confused

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 25/11/2013 15:39

Whitening toothpaste? I think that fades dye.

BeanoNoir · 25/11/2013 15:39

I'm barefaced at the moment. Walking home trying not to catch anyone's eye. Will it look better if I put make up on? It was meant to be a treat as I'm feeling pretty down. Feel worse now.

i know washing up liquid the normal green kind helps if you've dyed your hair too dark.

apply with an old toothbrush a few times? or rub in and rinse about 20 times? helps hair.

BeanoNoir · 25/11/2013 15:42

I have baby wipes! Also think I have a touch of angry bird about me.

Will look much better with makeup on and they will start to fade naturally within a couple of days, don't worry. I'm sure they aren't as bad as you think, it's just you aren't used to them yet.

Makeup will help (I tint my own brows and sometimes they are too dark).

Also, exfoliation (like with toothpaste as mentioned above). But as that can be quite harsh on your skin I would moisturise (sudocrem is good) in between.

It only takes a day or so to fade though.

What did they say when you said it was too dark?

They should have the means to lighten them.

Libraryfan · 25/11/2013 16:25

head and shoulders shampoo is supposed to fade hair dye a bit if that's any good.so my hairdresser tells me anyway.good luck

Fuckitthatlldo · 25/11/2013 16:46

You need to get home and exfoliate. There is usually some dye left on the skin after a tint and exfoliation will remove this. Spend some time massing in a granular physical exfoliator in small circles. I guarantee if you wipe it off with a cloth, the residue will be brown with excess dye. This should calm things down a bit.

If it's still too much you may have to spend the next couple of days wearing a little more eye makeup than usual. Dramatic brows are balanced by dramatic eye makeup. Think liner, lashes, and some smoky dark shadow blended into the socket.

HTH

I'm sure it's not the best way, but using facial bleach like Jolen works really well for this. Only leave it on for a few minutes at a time though, until it gets to the shade you are happy with.
Moisturise well afterwards!

Twinklestein · 25/11/2013 17:49

I second Head and Shoulders - I used it after an ill-advised hair tint & it works.

Libraryfan · 25/11/2013 18:08

have you tried head and shoulders shampoo? might be worth a shot good luck

Lambzig · 25/11/2013 18:17

It fades really quickly. Did you get your lashes done too?

It could be that you are just not used to it.

mysteryfairy · 25/11/2013 18:26

I have mine done every 3 weeks and even after years of this routine it's a shock every single time. I am used to them by the next day though - just make sure I never schedule them for a day where I am going anywhere much. I promise you yours aren't as striking to anyone but you.

Maverick66 · 25/11/2013 18:36

It won't seem so bad in a day or too :) once you have your makeup done and your hair fixed they'll be fine. They do fade very quickly and I would proceed with caution re fading them as you could provoke a reaction and do damage to your skin.

Squidwardtenticles · 25/11/2013 18:39

I did that once. I looked like Count Duckula haha

BeanoNoir · 25/11/2013 18:40

Well dh and pil don't seem to think it's that bad. I hate it though. Think it's the dye and also the fact she's threaded far more harshly than I'd have liked. Couldn't really tell in the shop as they give you a mirror that's so small you only see the eyebrow rather than how it looks on your face. Well I suppose the 90s are coming back in fashion, does that mean with my too thin eyebrows that I'm ahead of the pack?

OP posts:
SundaySimmons · 25/11/2013 18:59

That is very poor if you can't see yourself in a salon sized mirror.

Never leave a shop unless you are happy with the product or service.

Butteredsidedown · 25/11/2013 19:00

The advice I was going to offer has already been given!

Don't fret, it will fade by tomorrow morning slightly. I do mine all the time and start off looking like Groucho Marx, then it fades to Brooke sheilds, then after a day or two I look normal.

Must do mine, I look like Boris Becker right now.
