Reputable online retailer of teeth whitening gel

I have a set of the teeth guards for teeth whitening but it's been a few years since I used it so need to buy some of the gel to put in it.

I've heard you can get it much cheaper online than through the dentist, but I don't want to risk buying something dodgy and damaging my teeth or gums.

Any recommendations?

Can you remember what strength and brand you were recommended by your dentist originally ? If its the same brand I use I can recommend an online source.

Sorry, just had a look at their website and they no longer sell bleach except to registered dentists.
So I'll also now be watching the thread for recommendations.

Hi,
I've just checked, it's Optident 10% carbamide peroxide gel.

I have two syringes of it, but I have had it for about 4 years so am presuming it would be out of date?

I've just been having a browse....I used the gel that you kept in overnight.
I see there is a stronger one that you use for half an hour. Is that more harsh? I have quite sensitive teeth, they were very sensitive last time I whitened them, so I wouldn't want to risk anything too strong.

This one was recommended on a youtube thing I watched not a personal rec but thought I'd link anyway.

The law has recently changed so that you should not be able to buy whitening products of professional strengths from anywhere except the dentist. Just beware as now retailers selling these will now be doing so illegally.

SunnyUpNorth · 30/11/2013 21:22

Thanks rayofsun....there are loads for sale online that appear to be reputable. I have a dentist appointment next week anyway so I will check with her.

They may appear to be reputable but they are breaking the law. There have been several recent court cases involving beauticians performing illegal tooth whitening.
