I really fancy a satchel, are they a classic or too trendy?

I'm looking at a Cambridge Satchel but don't want to spend that amount of money if it's something that will look dated in a year or so - I think they're quite a classic style but I know they're quite 'in' at the moment and I really don't want to look like a fashion victim.

I think they're a bit done to death as a trend, tbh. Personally, I'm a bit fed up with seeing grown women with replicas of school satchels in 'fun' colours. Don't think it's that easy to carry off.

Was in Covent Garden the other day and they seemed to be all over the place. To me, they're not really 'classic', at least for adults.

Also, I prefer to be able to undo my bag without fussing with real buckles, etc.

But those are just my jaundiced views. Lots of people clearly still like them, so if you do go for it. At least they don't have 'gold' bling all over, which is my top hate in bags!
