The rest of the family ski, and while they're off skiing each day I'll wander around and see the sights. Presume I'll be walking, catching buses etc.

But what do I wear?

Depends how swanky the resort is... Which one? You'll want some grip in the snow boots - snow joggers, moon boot type things and a ski jacket like the skiers

Austria is pretty laid back on the whole.

The main thing is to dress practically for the weather. I wear jeans, Timberland boots, hat, gloves and a warm coat.

We're going to Seefeld which I presume is not swanky.

I wouldn't wear uggs! They are basically slippers and your feet will get soaked

Snow boot like sorrel. Ski jacket, ski trousers. Actually I would wear pretty much the same as a skier. I dont Know area but many you get a walkers lift pass and can go up the slopes in the telecabins etc so it's freezing. If just going out thermals under jeans should be ok. Bare in mind that many cafes will have most seating outside to cater for skiers popping in and out so it will be cold if your not equipped
