What are trendy teenage boys wearing on their feet at the moment?

Is there any alternative to converse that I should know about? DS1 not particularly label conscious but into Superdry and won't wear anything he things is UNcool. I am new to the world of teenage boys so all suggestions gratefully received please.

My 16 yo wears dms and desert boots. My 14 yo wesrs hi tops...

Vans mostly outside of school, or walking boots when weather is bad.

Hmm. Vans slip ons or lace ups?
Thing is DH wears vans slip ons so I suspect DS won't...
