If YOU like it what does it matter what others like? Do you really need to ask other people if it's ok for you to like something?

CointreauVersial · 19/11/2013 22:47

It's a pretty bag. Not my cup of tea, but DD1 has one similar. If you like it, buy it.

ninah · 19/11/2013 22:49

it was never OK in my book .. but it's not my book it's yours

Laska42 · 19/11/2013 22:55

Well that's just it ,I dont really want telling what i should like
or not , but just interested on what others think .. but I think I like it.. ,but then another part of me thinks it might be naff,,..Hmm I'm just so full of contradictions Grin

Oh well ill know when it arrives..

I love the nighties she does for little girls.
Umm, I think that's about it though.

ninah · 19/11/2013 23:02

it'll be naff

ninah · 19/11/2013 23:03

for me, obvs.

polyhymnia · 19/11/2013 23:08

I find her stuff naff and unstylish and the shops like theme parks. But as others have said that's just my opinion. No need for anyone else to share it.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 19/11/2013 23:08

I like it Smile
Don't conform- like what you like. Diversity is the richness of life!

defineme · 19/11/2013 23:09

I think it's cute and ditsy like all ck stuff. If I wear anything cute I look like an arse ... even dots aren't classic enough for me - patterns are generally out too. Depends what suits you.

CuttedUpPear · 19/11/2013 23:09

I like it but I think if it was mine I'd take the Cath Kidson label off it.
Then no one would know I was naff.

polyhymnia · 19/11/2013 23:11

PS presumably you know your mum does like CK. If not, I wouldn't assume her stuff appeals to everyone over 50 or 60 or whatever. Taste is individual at any age.

ninah · 19/11/2013 23:11

exactly! if you like it, you like it! the ultimate in style is confidence
(disclaimer, I love a dressing gown and thermal socks more than Gucci)

Arcadian · 19/11/2013 23:12

I've never been a fan... I'm too much of a goth, but shabby chic is still a thing, so I'd say yes!

Laska42 · 19/11/2013 23:12

Grin Ninah well ill see.. I might just embrace naff...(im getting to the purple dress and red hat stage of life anyway ) But its difficult to say right now as I had a couple of Wines before I began the Christmas shopping on line! So perhaps it will all go back !

Also I went to John Lewis today in an attempt to start christmas shopping , but was so boggled by all the stuff that I came away with nowt .. so I may be over compensating .. Grin

Laska I think I love you, let's go shopping!

polyhymnia · 19/11/2013 23:20

Shabby chic it ain't IMO. But you'll be able to make up your own mind when they come.

Laska42 · 19/11/2013 23:24

ooh and thanks everyone else.. Ive not really thought of CK as a brand to buy or not really , just thought my mum would like something a bit like it , But i think my she will definitely like the purse (she is 86!!)

But if I do keep the bag, it'll be ok as I live far from civilisation right out in the sticks so I might even be thought 'quite trendy' here!! (or Ironic) We have a lot of faux CK from local market and quite a few of the women in the office have bags from there

Yer On Ninah do you think ill be a good shopping companion because I drink beforehand or that I visit JL and fail to purchase? Grin

I think they're nice.

scarlet76 · 20/11/2013 06:56

I pay no attention to these threads that suggest a whole brand is naff or fashionable to be seen with. How dull the world would be if we all liked the same thing.
I have the navy birds bag you've linked to for yourself. Nice quality, good size and ideal for carrying across body when out with DC.
I assure you I haven't been laughed at in the street!

Morgause · 20/11/2013 06:57

I've never liked it but wouldn't say no one else should.

killpeppa · 20/11/2013 07:01

I love cath kidson, just bought some gorgeous wallpaper.

I have very girly taste when it comes to my home & understand that people think its very 'old fashioned' looking but I love that. I have a large collection of vintage furniture & it goes perfectly.

Its all a matter of taste, I detest 'modern' it looks naff to me-so everyone each to their ownGrin

Bradsplit · 20/11/2013 07:07

Ew. Never was

ninah · 20/11/2013 07:09

the drink would swing it for me Grin
no, more that you sound fun and I could do with a purple dress

Lagoonablue · 20/11/2013 07:13

I like her stuff. It can be a cliche but if you just have the odd thing.....I have a couple of bags which I use for work and they are really hard wearing.
