babyliss secret curl - not that impressed - what to do?

Soooo after reading lots of reviews online I really wanted to purchase the babyliss pro perfect curl but couldn't really afford it so opted for the babyliss secret curl as it didn't seem that different to what I wanted it for.

I purchased it from boots and have had it for a week and used it on three different types and lengths of hair and im just not that impressed - it doesn't seem to do a very tight curl like the pictures on the blogs/reviews show - I have it on the highest setting for heat and curl. The curls also seem to drop out really quickly.

Can I take it back? I still have the receipt and the box but I have used it. Or am I using it wrong? has anyone else had any issues with it? should I have gone for the babyliss pro perfect curl?

Yes they will refund you.

I use mine on the highest/longest setting, hold it shut until you get one long beep, not intermittent beeps

AllThreeWays · 18/11/2013 08:08

Some hair mine just won't hold a curl.

I've got the Pro Perfect Curl.

I read threads where people are raving about them and wonder where I'm going wrong. I've watched You Tube tutorials, tried all the different settings, tried it on other people's hair and I remain totally unimpressed.

I'm probably going to sell it on Ebay before Christmas.

So I'd say if the cheaper version doesn't work for you, then don't waste your money on the Pro Perfect. There's hardly any difference between the two anyway.

Yes Boots would refund I think. I took back the Babyliss Big Hair as it just didn't work in my hair and they refunded with no fuss.

Ok. That's good to hear-especially that the more expensive one isnt much better- I'll take it back then.

Thank you
