I have a black tie wedding in a fortnight and have this dress -
www.amazon.co.uk/Forever-Unique-REGINA-Blue-Dress-Womens/dp/B00FL9XVHE
Sorry I cant link on my phone (Its Forever Unique Regina in Cobalt blue)

I got these to wear with it www.very.co.uk/definitions-kruger-glitter-minimal-sandal-ankle-straps/1328807680.prd?_requestid=1567811

The underlay on the dress is a really pale gold. I am struggling with what to wear with the dress so I dont freeze! Im not really a faux fur fan and dont want to just wear any coat - Any ideas?

TIA

A gold pashmina?

makingdoo · 16/11/2013 21:52

Thanks.

I think I will have to go with a Pashmina although would much prefer a coat or jacket of some sort

A cropped jacket like this?

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 16/11/2013 22:02

Thermal pants and a tall handsome bloke who will give you his jacket for you to drape round your shoulders.

Beautiful dress BTW Envy

PasswordProtected · 16/11/2013 22:10

Sleeveless thermal vest & thermal knickers or long johns plus pashmina?

MelanieCheeks · 16/11/2013 22:13

I have a gold knitted short cardi - long sleeved, which would work. But it wasnt from a high street multiple, so I cant link, sorry.

makingdoo · 16/11/2013 22:25

Thanks everyone. It is the nicest dress Ive had for quite a while and cannot wait to wear it.

I will be wearing two pairs a pair of Spanx so they will help

Whatever it is, it shpuld either be no shorter than the dress (think cloak) or no longer than your waist (think pashmina). Anything in between would be plain wrong.

What a beautiful colour!

Twinklestein · 16/11/2013 23:24

Black tie isn't doesn't automatically mean long, that's white tie... Did the invite specify long, or do you know that other women will be wearing long?

Twinklestein · 16/11/2013 23:25

I think it's a bit loud for a wedding personally...

makingdoo · 16/11/2013 23:31

I think maybe Pashmina is the way to go. I dont want to spend money on something I will wont get the wear out of.

No nice charity shops in my area although it has made me think that my very glam grandmother might have something lurking at the back of her wardrobe that would suit.....

Amy I loved the colour too, it was the main reason for choosing the dress.

Twinkle The dress isnt in question tbh, Its bought now and I am definitely wearing it. The invite didnt specify long but everyone else I know is wearing long and the bride was with me when I bought it so I am happy with my dress choice. Im sure lots of people will wear short or cocktail length but Im relishing the chance to go super glam!

If everyone else is wearing long then it will be fine.

This place has some good value pashminas in a wide range of colours.

makingdoo · 16/11/2013 23:44

Thanks for the link, I was looking on there earlier.

The dress is more than fine, its gorgeous and not a bit loud Smile

I wouldn't have said that if I'd known you'd already bought it. Blush

I hope you have a good time.

NoComet · 17/11/2013 00:10

I see the dress as silver and blue
So something like this ?

My evening dress is wine with gold beads and it gets a gold lacy shawl with sequins in it. Bought very cheap in a HofF sale.

RhondaJean · 17/11/2013 00:15

For a winter wedding I would pair with a short fake fur jacket.

I'm not sure I quite belong on s and b though as I have a - unique? Perspective on clothes at times Grin

Jbck · 17/11/2013 09:51

If you google winter wedding guest outfit or similar there are tons of sures and ideas available.
I must admit I think fur stole or cropped jacket is the way to go, fake or vintage if your Gran has a gem hidden in the cupboard, maybe a velvet would work.

Jbck · 17/11/2013 09:55
