I knew they didn't send you one when you bought in the sale, but full price even with discount, they always did, right???

Only if it's advertised as free p&P and free returns. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't- you have to check the web at the time you place your order. I've been caught out but now I save the labels when they come and use them when free returns aren't included in another order.

IDugUpADiamond · 15/11/2013 15:39

Gawd I must have thrown away hundreds of free return labels. Darn it!

Standard Boden practice.

I always wait for the promotion of free postage and returns, before I order anything.

Elsiequadrille · 15/11/2013 16:01

Yes, make sure to save the labels when you do get them. I only realised this recently, too.

hazelnutlatte · 15/11/2013 16:05

Boden are doing 15% off and free delivery and returns today. Order something else then send both items back using your free returns label.

Chocolateteabag · 15/11/2013 19:07

I have done what Hazel suggests - ordered a couple of things a few weeks apart. The first wasn't free returns, but second was. Decide to return both and used one package (cos I am SOOO green and that) Boden took ages to credit me back the item I'd bought first when the second item was returned straight away. Took them about a week. Bit nerve wracking.
Save the labels!

alemci · 15/11/2013 19:18

yes always keep labels. useful for sales etc

Ninileigh · 15/11/2013 19:44

i have been stung today with £8 for a Boden return. I could have sworn i ordered it with free delivery and returns!! Makes me want to not order with them again, it's ridiculous!!

CointreauVersial · 15/11/2013 20:54

Ace tip, Hazelnutlatte, but if everyone did that, Boden would go bust. Grin

It really winds me up - why can't they have one policy and stick to it ? People slag off Next, but I never have to think about the cost of returns because they are always free, even in the sales. It means I can order something "speculative" without worrying about the potential cost of returns, which surely grows their business ultimately ?

BrieMonster · 15/11/2013 20:59

I was wondering this very thing today... They do allow you to return a few earlier purchases along with a free returns one? They seem a little strict (albeit morally right) and wondered if they'd hunt me down for attempting it...

squoosh · 15/11/2013 21:21

I hate online retailers that don't offer free returns, I expect it as standard these days.

bundaberg · 15/11/2013 21:21

wtf? seriously? I am sure I had one in my last parcel.

thank goodness I kept my stash of unused ones :-D

southeastastra · 15/11/2013 21:22

i think it's pretty off for a company that has no high st shops to not offer free or even reduced returns. if shops like esprit can offer free returns/deliveries am not sure why boden can't

do they offer free drop off points?

Spookey80 · 15/11/2013 21:25

I know! It's crap isn't it? Defeats the whole point of boden.
...but to be serious ... It will stop me buying stuff that's for sure!

polyhymnia · 15/11/2013 21:34

To be fair, if you check on here there is almost always a code around which gets you a reduction of at least 15%, often 20%, and free postage and returns.

I've been buying for quite a few years now - and returning plenty! - and there've been only one or two occasions when I've paid full price for the item and not received a free returns labels.

The only exception is the sale, when you do have to pay for returns. That's why it's sometimes - when you don't keep an item - actually cheaper to try it when there's 20% off and free postage and returns than wait for the sale.

As others have said, the trick is to stockpile free returns labels.

MrsRogerSterling · 15/11/2013 22:36

Always keep free return labels to use at a later date. When there is an offer and free delivery/returns, if you are ordering more than one item split your order up, you will then get an extra returns label to use another time. I have never paid return postage to Boden and I order and return quite a lot.
