I need to look nice, i'm overweight and have no money HELP ME

Hi all,

I am 5ft 2 - 11st.11lbs with big norks - 36 E, size 16, blue eyes, short blonde hair.

I have several work things coming up and a couple of dates too newly single and need ego boost.

I want to feel good but have a limited budget. Can anyone help?

I'd like a dress - red or black, maybe a wrap dress as it flatters my figure. Most of my weight is on my boobs and lower stomach, so anything to hide that would be great. I like my legs and non-fussed about arms.

Have a budget of under £50

Please help - stupidly time poor and hate, hate, hate clothes shopping at the best of times.

Oh good luck with hot dates. Have you thought about navy rather than red or black?

What are your favourite shops if money was no object? What do you usually wear which makes you feel good?

Have you looked at Hennes?

Well, tbh, I am having a style crisis all round.

I haven't shopped in a long time and tend to live in leggings Sad that's the difficulty I've found. I don't know what's good or where to go and limited budget means I'm, well, limited .

I can spend hours looking at things and then give up because I just don't know.

I'm not massively fussy about colours, i suppose black is slimming and my favourite ever dress 15 years ago and a few stone lighter was red, so I cling onto that.

I am no shrinking violet but need to update and feel better.

Haven't tried Hennes, will look now, thank you.

good for work

I think you need to bite the bullet and go and try some things on. Just think about how good you will feel when you find something you like.
Take your time and trust your own judgement, dress to please yourself, nobody else.

I like Hennes, gap and Zara. Maybe start there, and don't buy anything unless you LOVE it.

Forgot to say I really like the first dress tethersend linked to.

I'm same as you but bigger. If you have a John Lewis nearby you could go for a personal shopper, (no obligation to buy). Sometimes peacocks have some cheap & quite nice things.

I'd say as a treat to yourself, you should REALLY go on a house of colours colour analysis day-I did a couple of months ago & it is life changing for someone who isn't sure what colours suit them! On down the line or if you have a windfall, the style day is good too. Colours is £99 but really worth it.

Also, you should have a look in charity shops for real bargains of quality, (go to a posh area!)

Good luck!
