Help ... blotchy foundation ...

Well, I think it's blotchy. Any idea why? I cleanse, tone, moisturise most nights and exfoliate with an Aveda exfoliator (which is just like a toner and really wierd!) 2/3 times a week. Am using a Bobbi Brown foundation which was recommended at the B/B counter so it's the correct one for my skin-type. Apply it with my fingertips - would a brush help? Am thinking about trying another foundation but if the foundation's not the problem, then that would be a waste!

Oh, and it only goes blotchy around my lower cheeks.

Any suggestions? TIA

do you think you're putting too much on?

You should really only put a little foundation on the bits that need coverage, not as a complete veil.

mix it with moisturiser? is foundation oil or water based

Goodness I hadn't thought of that. I do cover my entire face but I don't 'cake' it on IYKWIM. I have read that but always figure that I'd look wierd if I did it!

what is your skin type and which foundation from the BB range do you have? It sounds as though maybe you have some dry patches, which can sometimes only become visible with foundation.

Puff ... skin does have dry patches on my cheeks - very definitely and muh worse in winter. I'm using BB Moisture Rich Foundation which is probably the right type. Am pretty good about moisturising and in the mornings use a Decleor oil underneath moisturiser which does help.
