Can I wear this to my Xmas party

Mine is like this but black.

I usually wear it as a work dress but have not worn it for weeks so hopefully no one will notice. There's no dress code at our Xmas party. I am size 6-8 and plan to wear it with black tights and animal print court shoes.

Do huge feck off earrings too.

buttercrumble · 14/11/2013 08:28

Yes with a statement necklace

PicnicPie · 14/11/2013 08:30

Yes it's lovely and as butter says, with a huge statement necklace from Zara.

Bearwantsmore · 14/11/2013 10:10

I really like the red version, shame it's out of stock!

Cucumberscarecrow · 14/11/2013 19:49

Sorry it's taken me so long to check back in. Love the idea of a statement necklace to jazz it up a little. Thanks all.

Don't wear animal print court shoes with black tights.

AmberNectarine · 14/11/2013 22:33

Agree with no opaques with the shoes comment, go bare legged or nude tights if you must. Statement necklace and the job is done.

Cucumberscarecrow · 15/11/2013 19:22

Oh really? The shoes are sort of black and beige. Can't I wear opaques?

Nude tights look awful on me and bare legs is not an option for me. I wear hats, scarves and gloves if there's an R in the month and am utterly miserable when cold.

Animal print she's and black tights - big no. Sounds lovely otherwise.

Cucumberscarecrow · 17/11/2013 08:00

Oh no, I never knew this. I saw a nice pair of beige suede courts in Jigsaw. Could I wear those with black tights?

I only do black shoes w black tights. Re nude tights, Agent Provocateur used to do some great, subtle nude fishnets w small squares, so I often used to wear those. So bloody hard doing anything other than black tights in the cold weather.

novelsituation · 17/11/2013 08:23

I wouldn't. I'd only wear black or very dark shoes/ boots with black tights. There will be an stark / harsh contrast between your legs and feet. Nude / beige or animal print need very fine nude/ fine nude fishnet tights or none at all.

bunnymother · 17/11/2013 08:24

Also, I did see some non opaque black tights that might work w the animal court shoes. It's like we are rain washed to only do black rights in an opaque finish, but there are other options. Pinterest and some fashion mags showed me so Grin

MarshaBrady · 17/11/2013 08:25

Yes you can, but shoes not that much lighter than tights.

bunnymother · 17/11/2013 08:41

Rain washed?? Brain washed. Here: Gucci runway photo shows sheer tights are back: www.net-a-porter.com/product/382862

Don't I make good use of my Sunday lie ins?

Cucumberscarecrow · 17/11/2013 09:31

Thank you. I am a bit Blush that I never knew this.

I really don't ever feel good in a nude tight so think I may have to wear black shoes so this statement necklace will really need to work hard to lift the outfit!
