To buy a new kit. I have some cash - thanks quidco and going to spend it. So out goes all the bare minerals that never quite suited my face, cc creams, bb creams and the rest.

I want and would like recommendations for:

New foundation
I don't use powder
Blusher
Mascara
I am happy with my eyeliners
May be a eyeshadow palette but I don't often wear them.

I have access to

Clinique
Clarins
Bobbi brown
Chanel
Lizzie Arden
Estée Lauder
Lancôme

I could go to mac bit it is an extra taxi ride away so would rather not.

I have black hair, pale skin and green eyes. Oh and I am 43.

Bobbi Brown pot rouge. I've never looked so healthy!

Don't buy foundations - get samples first to make sure that the colour is right and that the foundation lasts long enough, looks good all day and that you don't get break-outs from it. If you have dry skin, there's a new one from Clarins that might be worth trying.

For blusher, I'd get one matching the tone/colour of the lip product you're using - so if you're wearing a berry coloured lipstick, go for a berry coloured blusher. I personally like Mac, Chanel and Sleek.

I like Clinique mascaras.

If you want new eyeshadows, you could have a look at the colours mentioned in the description box in this Wayne Goss video - there's a long list of colours that are good to make eye colours pop, and he has listed them by eye colour.
Clarins have just made a new eyeshadow palette - it looks very nice.
Personally, I'd get a couple of colours from Mac, but I'm generally not very good at using all of the colours in a palette.
Sleek's eyeshadows are good too - and cheap.

Clinique perfectly real foundation. The best foundation I ever had.

Check out the new Bourjois cream blushers. Cheap as chips compared to the big name brands leaving you more dosh to spent on the expensive stuff like foundation.

I think that's a great idea - however, I would schedule sessions with 2/3 of the counters so you can see the products in action and get advice to steer your buying.
I had a session with Bobbi Brown this summer and have a list of products I know suit me and am working through the list :)
