It's for a voluntary position but kind of at a high level. Do people wear black suits any more?
I wear jeans. All the time! Or occasionally leggings. I have a pair of wide legged black trousers. And nothing else fits Shock
Help!!!

I have a similar dilemma because my sector is very casual. No one ever wears a suit to work. And wearing trousers (instead of jeans) makes me one of the better dressed in the office.

However I asked the recruitment agent who arranged an interview for me tomorrow. He advices all candidates to wear suits, even if no one in the sector does.

Not sure if it's also applicable to the voluntary sector. HTH.

Thank you. It isn't voluntary sector - I would be a lay person among proffessionals so think I'd better assume I would be expected to be the same!

I really hate trouser suits. I'd go for a dress/blazer combo, or trousers/top/blazer.

Last two interviews I've had, I've worn black trousers, with a blazer type jacket over a pale top. I'm a jeans and tee shirt person, so didnt have a formal suit or smart dress, and was reluctant to go to the expense of buying something I wouldn't wear again. I did buy new shoes and handbag.

Got the job both times.Wishing you good luck. (Fingers crossed for you.)

Thanks Dorothy. I will defintely have to treat myself to new shoes and bag then Wink

Right. Off to the shops! I'm thinking tailoring but not too suity. And not too black.

I have the same suit I had from like 8 years ago Grin

I don't have a shirt so I'd only be wearing a normal plain top underneath.

My suit from 8 years ago is still hanging in the wardrobe but it's 3 sizes too big. I bought 2 dresses last year which could have worked but are now a size too small!
