Merrell Haven

Very quick question! I have found a Merrell Haven in Peppercorn (it seems dark grey) for £99 but the sizing seems a bit odd.

On the Merrell Wesbite it says Medium is 8-10 but this site says Medium is 12-14 and I really don't know what size to get.

Im actually a 10 on top but a 12 on the bottom but am very short at 4ft 10 so most coats swamp me.

Im sick of being freezing on the school run so this needs to be right! Can anyone help?

I feel your pain, I'm five two and I find that the waist of a garment (ie the narrowest bit!!) falls at my hips, my widest bit. So quite often, I don't need to size up, what I need is for somebody to come along and cut a two or three inch 'belt' out of the middle and then stitch it all back together again! There is a tailor in my home town who knows me very well, that's all i can say. He has all my details on an index card. he is a genius. Once, I had a dress, too roomy in the bust area but already a bit unforgiving around the hips, and he lifted it UP, shortened it from the TOP not the bottom iyswim. HIs best clients (most regular) are all petite women. HOnestly I just see it as short person tax at this stage.

Looking at the coat now, it looks like one side flaps over the other side with a good bit of overlap. Could a tailor reposition the zip for you? and then if necessary lengthen the loops ??
