How do I find a shade of red lipstick to suit me?

I fancy getting a posh red lipstick to be my new signature lipstick. Every mum I see at playgroup looks great with a bright lipstick and when I tell them this they all say it's the lipstick and they've not had shower or brushed hit etc. obv they might be lying but anyhow, how do I work out why shade will suit me.

If you have suggestions - olive skin but with yellow undertones but pink cheeks, mid brown long hair, hazel/green/brown mix eyes. Quite plump lips. Wear a lot of navy, grey, black, sometimes reds.

OP I think you need to go to the counter and just try a bunch on. I did that with Lancôme and came away with two I never would have bought for myself but which looked great.

Esp if you are looking at Chanel, there is no point spending that kind of money unless you are sure.

I have very similar colouring, so that's why I suggested it.
But absolutely, try as may as you can.

I went to a counter and asked for help as I was also looking for a bright lipstick and I would never have found the shade I did without the beauty consultants help. I just got max factor lipfinity lip stain as my first foray into brights as didn't want to waste lots of money on a top brand if I wasn't brave enough. But I love it!

There's loads of lovely cheaper brights out - the L'Oreal Caresse range,
Revlon Butters, Revlon and Bourjois Chubby Sticks.
