HOC Romantic Classics

There seem to be a zillion and one threads about the cult of HOC colours here, but less info and links to steal on Style types.

I've recently found out I'm a Romantic Classic - a shock as I thought I'd be 100% natural after a few years in maternity tunics... Starting to embrace all things womanly and am looking for inspiration. Oh, and I'm a summer.

Thank you Gillybobs, ditto, if you are the same person I'm conversing with on Pinterest Grin

I need to add to it but I've run out of inspiration!

I am indeed Grin

Shops wise I love mint velvet but their colours can be an issue for a spring....I am about 80% colour compliant! the style ing is more important to me so if I see something I love I buy it. Including black. Although I'd never wear head to toe black now I realise how draining it is. I also like Boden trousers, Chelsea turn ups in particular, J crew for merino crew necks and fab necklaces, Great Plains for silky tops and jackets. Also did a Mango order at the weekend as they had 30% off! got a fab embroidered drape jacket in cream.

My smart casual uniform right now is skinny trousers or denims, silky t shirt or top, big necklace and a fabric biker or drape front jacket. I recently bought the Boden silver mini wedges and they are great! seem to suit my Rom Classic perfectly

Hmmm, I have no idea why I spelt 'wants' with an apostrophe! All this shopping has gone to my head!

SorrelForbes · 28/04/2014 20:34

I like Reiss, Hobbs, Whistles, Zara (although there hasn't been anything that great for me lately), Boden (not the prints though!), J Crew, Crew, Mango, H&M (vests mostly).

We're not really meant to do casual are we? I absolutely agreed with hopefully when she said you just can't pull off the boho, ripped jeans, white t-shirt, tan sandals look! I just end up looking like a scruffy boy. At the moment, I living in slim cut trousers/jeans, Breton tops or silky plain tops and blazers which is pretty much what I was wearing before. However, I've ditched my normal converse and switched to Converse Dance which are more feminine and I'm wearing loafers and stilettos a lot more for work.

I do like those silver wedges...

SorrelForbes · 28/04/2014 20:35

I did a Mango order at the weekend too but couldn't find much in white.

I've got some silver Nine West sandals which I'm hoping will see me through summer teamed with my stripey Reiss dress (on my Pinterest board) and skirt!

I'm still looking for nice spring/summer dresses Grin

As we're approaching party season, I will confess having had a knock-off version made of the Elie Saab dress (but in royal blue) that I was drooling over on the Winter thread. It arrived today and is very sparkly indeed! Alas, it is too tight on the arms so it's going to have to go to the dress makers for some adjusting before I wear it. It's lined so I think removing/altering the lining on the sleeves may solve the problem.

I know it was a while back, but thanks for the link to the videos charitygirl if you're still around.

I may be back to bump this thread in January as I'm having my style day then. I always thought I would be mostly classic mixed with dramatic, but watching Alex describe Romantic in the video has given me a lightbulb moment. I had thought it meant frills and flounces!

Also msdolittle there are lots of dresses in the style of the Zarita in the shops at the moment, so you may not need to have it made (unless you do want to use your wedding dress of course, which sounds like a lovely idea!)

Hi ladies, may I join you?

I had my style day today and was 'diagnosed' as a RomClassic. I'm pleased overall as it's a look I try to aspire to anyway but I was wondering about what footwear, particularly boots, you've all purchased this season. I live in pumps and loafers but need something more substantial in winter.

I'm also a HOC jewel winter if this info helps Smile
