Can you slob in a skirt?

I have lived in jeans ever since I stopped going out to work 13y ago. I have recently rediscovered my knees and bought myself a couple of denim skirts.

Today's been a not-doing-much sort of day and I have spent it at home in one of my new skirts.

It's so uncomfortable! The skirt is fine to walk around in, and to sit demurely on a chair in, but it's just not slob-around clothing,

Am I deluded about how, when and where to wear a skirt?

I tend to slob in dresses more than skirts. Although I find jersey type skirts more comfy than denim

Branleuse · 09/11/2013 14:58

thats when you wear a dress and leggings

MrsLettuce · 09/11/2013 15:00

Yeah, dresses are much more friendly than skirts.

ILoveAFullFridge · 09/11/2013 15:21

But dresses are so much more, erm, well, dressy. I already feel over-dressed!

Grin You do stop feeling over dressed I promise! I've made a massive effort to wear more dresses, mainly casual stretchy jersey type ones. I wear footless tights with them, sometimes a waist belt

Definitely. I'm a great fan of short skirts and woolly tights for slobbing!

I am v happy to slob in a jumper dress or a tube skirt (elasticated waist!). Denim is too stiff for slobbing.

ShatnersBassoon · 09/11/2013 15:54

I can't. It gives me flashbacks to Christmas a few years ago when I decided to wear a dress instead of pyjamas, because we were staying with someone else and they're quite proper. I fell asleep after lunch on the chair right next to the tv, legs akimbo. I don't think they put the Queen's speech on that year Blush.

I don't find jeans comfortable for slobbing. Only leggings, yoga pants, jersey skirt/dress and tights.

ILoveAFullFridge · 09/11/2013 17:45

It seems that jersey is the way to go, then.

I like jersey. In my DINKY days (or even SINKY days) I often wore jersey or stretchy skirts to work.

But...

But now I feel the need of a nice firm piece of denim to rein in my stretched to buggery and back by three whopper babies saggy tummy. I look preggers in a jersey dress! (Spanx are a godsend, but I will not wear Spanx to slob in.)

doesnt matter if your tummy is fat if youre only slobbing around. Or wear leggings with a slight control panel underneath

ILoveAFullFridge · 09/11/2013 18:00

Ooo where can I get some of those?
