Was in Kingston last night and went to Cos (my first Proper look at stuff for me, tried on and liked both the jumper below AND skirt but then noticed jumper had shed on skirt.... is this common with cashmere? Both looked really nice though and when I'm at Westfield Saturday with a friend will look again. what does everyone think? I tried the jumper in a small and it was parfait.

I also tried on this skirt from Zara which was nice - flattering but I felt it was maybe too young/too cheap looking:-

Opinions? I am after naice work skirts but also that they could be dressed up for weekend if need be. and a naice sweater. Bloody Uniqlo sold out instore of their roundnehck merino sweater so will have to order online if at all! the other Zara skirts I saw looked great but the material was shockingly thin and I doubt they'd be good in winter...

THANK YOU.

Think you can get a sweater that doesn't shed. I would keep on looking.

I like COS skirt better than the ZARA. Zara has too many zips for me.

trixymalixy · 08/11/2013 13:25

Don't buy a jumper that sheds, it'll drive you nuts.

I prefer the Zara skirt, but that's because pencil skirts suit me better than a line.

HelloBoys · 08/11/2013 16:02

thanks for the tips. think I will leave the sweater lovely though it was.

BUT the skirt - the Zara one is quite high waisted whereas the Cos one isn't... so what to do?

I prefer the cos skirt but only wear with fitted tops otherwise you'll look like a bag lady.

AwkwardSquad · 08/11/2013 19:03

I have that Cos skirt. It's fab - style, great quality especially for the money, and not ubiquitous. I've never seen anything in Zara that ticks all those boxes. But then I really don't rate Zara at all. Emperor's new clothes as far as I'm concerned.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/11/2013 19:16

Love the Cos skirt, especially in red. How long is it - I find most of their stuff way too long for me, and therefore v frumpy.

AwkwardSquad · 08/11/2013 19:37

I'd estimate it at three inches above my knee, and I'm 5ft 7.

AwkwardSquad · 08/11/2013 19:38

Happy to measure it tomorrow if you'd like.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/11/2013 19:39

Thank you - suspect it will be too long then. Don't worry re measuring: I'll have a peek irl.

HelloBoys · 08/11/2013 22:23

Remus on me the skirt is knee length and I'm 5 ft 5

I also love the Cos skirt, but then, like trixy above and the Zara skirt, it's a good shape on me.

lurkingaround · 08/11/2013 22:26

I also really like the Cos skirt, but then, like trixy above and the Zara skirt, it's a good shape on me.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/11/2013 22:39

Thanks, Hello. Deffo too long for me.

lurkingaround · 08/11/2013 23:05

Jeez, apologies the double post. Yesterday I couldn't post at all for most of the day, today twice with different wording. Sheesh.

phoolani · 08/11/2013 23:12

Really dislike the Zara skirt; really can't imagine it'd look good on an hourglass, either. The cos skirt is lush, tho (will be buying it myself, so thanks!). Wear with a close fitting top, tucked in as per the picture and it'll look great; smart and a very modern shape.

HelloBoys · 09/11/2013 11:45

Phoolani surprisingly the skirt worked on me (I'm not a obvious hourglass) I just think it looked cheap.

Whereas the Cos skirt is getting bought from me! Not the jumper as it'll shed, annoying cashmere!

I like the look of the Zara skirt. Zara can be a bit hit and miss when it comes to quality though. There was one year where everything I picked up was so cheap feeling. They seem to have got a bit better again.

HelloBoys · 09/11/2013 12:01

Yeah but trixy for me spend a few pounds more and I get The nicer more wearable cos skirt. I'd get bored of the Zara one.
