Celebrity fragrances that don't smell like cat pee ?

I normally steer well clear of any celeb fragrances because I automatically think they will be naff and if I don't like the celeb I can't ever imagine wearing it (yes Katie Price, I am talking about you love).

However I got a sample of the new Katy Perry (very silly name, Killer Queen or something like that) and I was pleasantly surprised. Quite heavy but a good fragrance for this time of year.

Any other wee gems out there that I am automatically dismissing because some tango faced celeb is endorsing it ?

I actually really like the Britney Spears Curious. It's old - I think it's from 2004 or so.
Jessica Parker - Lovely was quite popular as well. Not for me though.

The new Rihanna - Rogue is apparently very nice. I haven't seen it in the shops here in the middle of nowhere yet though.

I love SJP's Lovely and feel slightly ashamed that one of my fave perfumes ever is a tacky celeb one. That's just me being a snob though.

I'm another secret SJP Lovely wearer. I bought a 100ml bottle for £20 as I was going through my expensive perfumes for work which is just ridiculous.

I also like SJP's Lovely though I also hate the idea of sleb perfumes. It is in a gorgeous bottle too.

Will have to sniff out SJP's lovely by the sound of things. I'm no perfume or cosmetics snob just hate the thought of someone telling me I smell nice and then having ruin my sophisticated air of mystery by saying "Erm, yes, it's J Lo's new one..."

Actually I am a snob aren't I ? Grin

I know, it's ridiculous! I bought a sample of Narciso Rodriguez's perfume as I heard it was like SJP's but nicer and higher end................but I didn't like it as much.

So now I furtively spray Lovely on and hope no one asks me where it's from. Grin

The only celebrity perfume I've liked is Truth or Dare by Madonna.

I like a strong sillage and this lasts all day. The bottle is grim so isn't one to put out on display but the fragrance is lovely. I have used it as room spray and added a few squirts to ironing water spray too.

I was after one for DD for Christmas and the Superdrug assistant recommended Britney Spears Circus which was actually quite nice!! Also like SJP Lovely too..

I'm not a fan on celebrity fragrances at all but I have to agree with you about Katy Perry's new fragrance. There's a sample in this months Cosmopolitan and I was quite surprised at how nice it smelt!

prettyinpink90 - it's lovely isn't it. I can't put my finger on it but it reminds me of something else...definitely smells like a Dior or a Chanel fragrance I think. Quite classy.

Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy is lovely but I can't bring myself to buy it.
I love looking on cheapsmells (changed their name, cant remembrr new site) and seeing the worst celeb perume, they had a calum best mens and a Star Trek lady perfum atm, mmmmm enterprisey.

I like Britney Spears' Island Fantasy. There, I said it. I tend towards the more floral end of perfumes anyway, so if you don't like those then you'd probably hate it. But for a summer perfume that you can splash all over you for work etc it's more than fine.

I always end up with a celeb perfume for xmas fro m DM - so I use them for work/everyday.

Currently on Kylie Minogue - Darling. It's not too sickly sweet - or overpowering. It's one of the nicer ones imo

I bought the Kate Moss one someone's 18th 4 years ago but never gave it. I opened itself a couple of weeks ago and I quite like it, just got work though.

I'll own up to SJP Lovely too even though I feel exactly the same as you about celebrity endorsements.

It it nice and very reasonably priced.

I love the Britney Spears fantasy range, especially Hidden Fantasy. It is really cheap but smells far more expensive and comes in a really pretty bottle. It is a little embarrasing when people ask what I'm wearing though!

The two times I've asked a stranger what perfume they are wearing it's been a Britney one.

I got Kylie "Darling" as a present and really like it. It is my "going out" perfume - not used very often sadly!
