The perils of clearing out your wardrobe

Cleared out my wardrobe in the Spring after years of neglect following the usual advice anything that was tatty, didn't fit or hadn't been worn for a couple of years was chucked, only kept old designer bits that were too expensive too throw out even if I never wear them
Now I find myself really hankering for my fitted black velvet jacket, it was monsoon and I hadn't worn it for 5 years, but now I REALLY want it goddammit.
The moral of this story...never clear out your wardrobe!

Oh.. and if anyone sees a lovely fitted black (or navy) velvet jacket (I can see myself in it with skinnies and high ankle boots) to replace it, please do share!

Have you chucked anything and regretted it?

I tend to box that stuff and shove it in the cellar for a year. If I haven't missed it by the next Spring clean it goes to Charity.

I have learnt the hard way too. Smile

Cleaning out my wardrobe now. Not a lot left to keep though so I don't think I will have that problem. Have discovered I have 27, yes 27 long sleeve white t shirts. In all shades sizes from 12 to 18/20, unfortunately size 18 being the one that fits me now. What was I thinking! Still hoping to find something nice that I had forgotten I had. Not liking my chances.
It's a good idea to keep them for a while before committing them to the bin wallybanters although, am safe enough with most of what In getting rid of.

Do you think it might be a bit of a rose tinted memory? I mean, you hadn't worn it for years and didn't like it enough to keep when you cleared out. Maybe it's not as perfect as you remember...
