Anyone had Boden shoes' leather soles disintegrate in the rain? Don't know if I should cancel order...

I bought patent flats about 2 years ago from Boden. They had leather soles, according to the website. I wore them just the once and it rained... When I got home the sole was basically cardboard with what looked like scraps of leather veneer here and there. The leather sole was literally a super think coating of leather on cardboard. I sent them back and got a refund with no issue.
Fast forward to now, I just ordered the Boho boots in ruby, again with leather soles. I stupidly read the reviews after ordering because there was only one pair in stock and I was eager not to miss out. Anyhow, one of the reviews has mentioned a disintegrating sole. I really like the boots but don't want shoes that are not going to withstand a bit of rain, not with our winters...
Just wondering if anyone else has had this? I can't be doing with the hassle of phone calls, explanatory notes etc if I have to return...and then the search for boots again... Grrrr.
Thanks!

Just wear them in dry weather for a bit to scuff the soles and then take to the cobblers and have rubber soles stuck on , my dh has leather sole brogues which he has had for 19 years and have kept nice by doing this

You really can't wear leather soles in the rain, either attach rubber soles or save them for dry weather.
