Is this ok for a day with a health visitor (as a student)

Am spending a day with a health visitor next week, I have NO smart/officey clothes because I have no reason to (student and have always worn uniform to work). She said it was smart casual so am a bit stuck.

I think I will wear /link{http://search.next.co.uk/search?p=Q&ts=custom&nxti=0&nxtv=000&nb=&np=&w=smart+culottes&af=&images=on&cnt=12\these} and a short sleeved white blouse. The blouse is a bit see-through so I would wear a white vest underneath is that ok?

Will be wearing simple white gold jewellery.

I have never even seen a hv before so have no clue whats acceptable. Shoes will be black ballet flats, have been told not to wear heels.

Deffo

They only dress casual anyway.
You never know you might end up with baby sick all over you!

Wear something that you can get down onto the floor in (babies generally weighed on the scales on the floor) and that doesn't show up baby sick. Avoid anything too smart/trendy/revealing/tight. Flat shoes and no rings with stones (can scratch a baby). Have a nice day!

are you a nursing student. I fyou are, you could just wear your uniform???
What you are suggesting sound fine. smart but casual, but comfortable but practicle. lol

PinkTulips · 07/07/2006 13:47

nursing student who accompanied my PHN (equivalent to HV) just wore jeans and a jumper so you should be fine!

chapsmum have been told not to wear uniform, basically on community placement we wear whatever the nurse we are working with wears as far as uniform goes, if they don't we don't. Will have ID badge on so hopefully is obvious I am a student!
