Tell me all you know about elastic laces because I know nothing!

Ds1 has feet too large for Velcro fastened shoes and doesn't like slip ons. We have got him some pretty cool Adidas trainers but of course they have laces. Can I just swap the laces the shoes came with for elastic laces? Then we could tie them once and he could pull them on and off.

And if there are any elastic laces experts out there, is there any real difference between them. I have found some on www.elasticlaces.co.uk for about £6.50 which is a little more than I was hoping to pay, but I can see that you don't want them to snap while you are wearing them.

Wouldn't say I'm an expert but I used to use them in my running shoes when I did triathlon. Yes, you can put them in any shoes, the ones your looking at sound pretty pricey though, don't remember paying that much for mine (but it was a while ago - pre-ds's!)

Meant to say, very unlikely to snap even if you go cheap, they're much stronger than say a hair elastic.

I've just ordered some from ebay tonight. We love them here - so easy for kids to use and come in all colours... can't go wrong!

lock laces are pretty good - have used them for several years and they last - also come in lots of different colours..
