After a fantastic day jumping in puddles with the children i have decided i need a nice pair of wellies. My problem is i need to find a pair that will fit a small elephants leg. My calves are huge and i was thinking the shorter boots might work. So do you have them or even the adjustable ones or do you have another option for me?

I have the ones that look like biker boots that are about mid calf. I'm happy to measure them if you like? Fwiw, I'm a size 16 but they are loose on me.

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 03/11/2013 15:24

Do you want to spend that much? If you have an asda nearby they have short wellies for £8 loads of.room in them they have plain ones and patterned.

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 03/11/2013 15:27

Sorry they are £13 this year a huge increase in price! Mine have lasted a whole winter and the snow and dog walking stood on the sidelines in muddy fields. Washed them with the hose and as good as new.

My sister got plain red ones this year shes a size 26 and they have room in them.

They are a birthday present to myself lol. My calves at the widest are 44cm. chop that would be great if you could

My calves are 42 cm and I have a pair of Hunter short boots. The longer boots were too tight.

I also tried on a pair of Regatta long boots in Go Outdoors and they strangely fit my calves but were narrow on the foot

Joules sell short wellies too. They are generously sized. Garden centres often stock joules so might be easier to try on.

NorthernLurker · 03/11/2013 16:30

Oooh I'd been think about the Joules ones but Asda sounds good!

spicynaknik · 03/11/2013 16:31

I have these which are apparently made by Hunter (if that makes any difference). The Hunter boots are too narrow in the calf for me but these fit well, even with socks and jeans tucked in. They are good quality and have lasted ages.

Allthingsprettyreturns · 03/11/2013 17:46

Try TK Maxx for Hunters as I spotted them in a branch the other day. I don't think they are the short style nut you might find some.

MissBeehiving · 03/11/2013 17:52

I have some short Hunters and they are huge on me but I have skinny legs - just a word of warning - mine have split after two years but I have worn them practically everyday.

fishybits · 03/11/2013 17:52

I've got 44cm calves and swear by my Muckboots which come up over my calves comfortably. Really warm during the winter too.

Chopsypie · 03/11/2013 18:05

Right, they are 32cm round the top, but are 23cm tall so they stop below the biggest bit of the calf. My calves are 39cm at widest point and they don't rub or chafe.

slindile · 03/11/2013 18:07

YES

I have the most massive calves ever and I love those short Hunters. Very comfortable.

Glittertwins · 03/11/2013 18:24

I have the tall Hunters but in their wider fitting. My calf size is 41cm and I can get them on over jeans. I think they have the measurements on their website

starshaker · 03/11/2013 18:40

According to thier sizings they will fit but i was hoping somebody would give me their experience. You know what these things are like. I really cant wait to get them. Think i will get the short ones. Now i just need to choose the colour lol

If you want shorter style I have Ilse Jacobsen that come in short, mid and knee length and, bear with me, lace up. Sounds terrible, is fantastic and makes on/off so much easier if you have high instep like me. Comparable in price to Hunter and better quality imho. I have the mid length.

Glittertwins · 03/11/2013 18:47

I got mine from Office in the local shopping centre as I also wanted to try them on, not quite believing the online sizing guide.

Chants73 · 03/11/2013 19:51

I got short hunters from tk maxx last year. They are fab.....I can tuck skinny jeans in, calves are fine. Dont have a tape measure to hand, but in duo boots I tend to need the top end of the calf fittings, so they are big calves. I have size 8 feet and the rest of me varies between a size 14 and 20. I'd go for it

Glittertwins · 03/11/2013 20:20

I seem to be the same sort of sizing as Chants73 and get boots from Duo so you should be fine. So, as you said, what colour??

starshaker · 05/11/2013 17:06

ok i have bought these They should arrive tomorrow so hopefully they will look as awesome as i hope they will. Sooooo excited
