Rimmel salon pro nail polish- it's fab and cheap! What else could I save money on..

I usually think that you have to spend £££ to get good products. I've always used Nails Inc and Leighton Denny on my nails and, while they are good, they always chipped after a day despite using base and top coats. I've just bought a pot of Rimmel salon pro nail polish, it has a great wide brush and is so easy to apply. I haven't used a base or a top coat as I thought it was going to be rubbish, but 3 days later there isn't a chip in sight!

Any other things I could be saving my money on?

It's £4.49 and got it here on 3 for 2!

Well what can't you save money on quite frankly. Body scrub - the yellow loreal one comes out best in reviews and is about a fiver. Face moisturiser - aldi again gets rave reviews. Save your money and put it towards Botox cos no cream on this planet can improve wrinkles/sagging etc.

Sorry foxy. I disagree about saving your money and putting it towards Botox.
Not everyone wants a frozen face or chemicals injected into it.

I don't use expensive cream.
But I have used something since I was in my teens and don't have any wrinkles and I'm getting on.

Maybelline gel style polish is fab too

Oil cleansing method is very cheap

I think we 're kidding ourselves with the creams - I'm obsessed by them, been using them since about 12 - and at 40 plus have only very faint eye wrinkles and none on my face

But it's really genetics - my grandmother was very unlined.

If you frown you get that forehead wrinkle - I literally never frown since someone told me that about 15 years ago - not one forehead line - people definitely think I have Botox in my forehead

I use Avon Nail wear pro+, usually on special at £3 and find it's great, much longer lasting that Nail Inc or Jessica.

Moisturiser - doesn't really matter what you use as long as it has a high SPF ( although I still buy Clarins in the sale).

Foundation - I have been using L'oreal perfect , its a BB cream at £10 a pop, much better than my other more expensive bases.

Unfortunately I do have a bit of a Bobbi Brown palette habit that I can't break, but I do use the stuff for ages probably much longer than I'm meant to.

Oh and in the interests of research, most Avon make up is rubbish, my next door neighbour sells it so I buy it to support her, but other than the nail polish I have been uniformly disappointed.

Oh and Dove sun kissed body moisturiser in Light is much better than any number of more expensive self tanners I have used.

Oh I totally get that Botox isn't for everyone. I guess my point is dont waste money on expensive creams cos they do bugger all in the fight against ageing skin. With the exception of prescription only creams, like tretinoin and obagi.

Inecto Coconut Oil shampoo and conditioner - £1.99 each for a 500ml bottle.

I stumbled upon it by accident but have since searched on here and have seen it recommended by others.

It leaves my hair really smooth and shiny.

There are lots of other products in the range too like various hair serums but I haven't tried those.

oh, and the Inecto shampoo and conditioner are paraben free too

Is the Dove gradual tan really good?

Does it dry quickly?

I think simple toner is great and does equally as good a job as decleor, Liz Earle etc.

I'm not exactly sure what toner is meant to do but my skin feels just as good after using the simple stuff

Garnier sensitive eyes eye make up remover. But I don't use waterproof mascara so I don't know if it works on that.

LostMarbles - the Dove gradual tan dries fairly quickly,I don't use it all over though, just on my legs normally, then do the rest of my body a few days before we go on holiday. It's very gradual and takes a few days to build up, which is good for me as I have naturally pale skin, so a sun kissed glow is all I am looking for.

I don't use toner as I can't see the point of it !

Superdrug hot cloth cleanser is meant to be just as good as Liz Earle at a fraction of the price.

It's ok but not as good at Liz Earle.

But it is a fraction of the price.

I second the Inecto coconut shampoo from bodycare. All of their stuff is fab, love the coconut hand creme at 99p

ooh I'll have to try the handcream too. I'm just so impressed with the shampoo and conditioner.

I think Inecto is the same brand as Pure Coconut. The hand cream is so lovely but be careful if you buy the hair serum as well because the bottle is almost identical but the serum is really sticky.lol.

Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser and Eye Makeup Remover - both very effective and gentle (even my very sensitive skin tolerates them fine). Can anybody tell me whether the day moisturiser is as good and non-irritating, please?

Collection 2000 Cover-up Stick - very good coverage, long lasting, lots of colours, very cheap. As good as Benefit Boi-ing, IMO (but not great under the eyes).

Collection 2000 Liquid Eye Liner - long-lasting, non-irritating, very nice in the dark brown shade, again very cheap.

Real Techniques Make-up Brushes (especially the Expert Face Brush) - pretty much the same price as Boots and Asda own-brand brushes, but give a perfect finish, wash well and last a very long time.

Olay Complete Multi-Radiance moisturiser - as good as MAC Strobe cream as a highlighter or to mix with foundation, but £7.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - just brilliant, if you're pale enough.
