Has anyone had eye surgery for hooded upper eyelids?

Hooded eyes are a family trait (we are an attractive bunchGrin) and I am very aware that mine are getting worse as i get older.

I have had a whim about getting them done, but wondered if any of you lot have had it done or know someone who has.
And how uncomfortable was it ? Apparently it is under local anasthetic which is making me feel a bit queasy.

I want to know too OP! Mine have really started to bother me lately and would love to hear some feedback from people who have had this done.

DH's cousin had it done and got an infection afterwards. Not a pretty site.

Mind you, she lives in California and has had an boob job too. And still totally neurotic.

My SiL was having problems with her eye hoods and saw her GP who referred her to an NHS eye clinic where she had it done with no problems at all.

She had to prove that she was experiencing real problems with her eye lids (not sure how), but she said it wasn't difficult. They won't do it for cosmetic reasons, but if you can prove it is a nuisance NHS is your friend.

DM had hers done; she would have been around 60.

She said it was very straightforward and she was extremely pleased with the results. I think they actually removed some of the excess skin from above her eyes, then she had some sort of half-face-lift at the same time.

I inherited a lot of things from DM, bur fortunately I have DDad's eyes!
