Thanks! She's tall, gorgeous (obviously) and loves makeup, hates her hair (curly, straightened every day) and is fifteen.
Thinking good Xmas present but also have read some odd reviews of glossy box et al.

I don't know what a beauty box is sorry!

Nerfmother · 31/10/2013 20:22

It's a subscription service and every month they send a box of samples and full size products: about £10 PCM ? Glossy box, carmine, birch box etc

I have a skincare box every month, not a make up one.

It used to be called beauteco but is now love me beauty . It's £10 per month Smile

Nerfmother · 31/10/2013 21:06

Is it any good? Assuming it is if you keep subscribing!

Yes it is, it's coming up to a year I've had it now. Always 2 full sized products at least and 3 sample size. Last month there was a mascara and eyeliner but there's not always make up.

You have a choice of 3 different boxes, all 3 have the same 3 items and then 2 different items per box. So all 3 boxes have a shampoo for example and a cleanser and serum. Then box 1 has a face moisturiser and lip balm, box 2 has a hand cream and shower oil and box 3 has an eye cream and scrub. So you choose online and pick the box you want. If you don't pick you one they will choose for you depending upon your previous picks.

They will email you every month to let you know when the boutique is open for you to choose.

I've had some good stuff and brands I wouldn't usually try or are too expensive for me to consider Smile

The only downside for me is that I have too many serums now as they are a regular. I have a line of 4 or 5 on my shelf and I don't buy them otherwise as I don't use them. But that's it.

That does sound good. Others are a bit hit and miss I think ( no choice) would it suit a fairly clued up teen?

Check out miss glossy box

onetiredmummy · 31/10/2013 21:51

I don't have a teen but my one reservation is would it be too old for her. Do 15 year olds use serum or seek out luxury brands?

Nerfmother · 31/10/2013 22:22

Serum no, luxury brands maybe but only if well known ?
