How can I make my face look better?

Apart from my favoured paper bag method...?

I have developed eczema on my eyes for the first time since I was about 12. I wear glasses so my eyes get kind of lost, and eye make up brings them out a bit and makes me look more awake (much needed right now!!!)

Eye makeup is obviously a no-go while I sort the eczema, so any suggestions for how to make myself look less worn out mummy without it?

(Does make me realise how limited my makep knowledge is if I only really use my eyeshadow/liner/mascara... )

Maybe focus on the lips, and also buy a really lovely necklace, that will make you look more 'put together', IYKWIM, without makeup, and take the focus away from your eyes?

a bit of light blush or brightening powder - like benefit's "dandelion", and some lipgloss?

i get ezcema on my eyelids and it is sore and looks horrid - you have my sympathies...i just wear sunglasses to hide it whenever i can.

If you find a magic "less worn out" solution, I'll be interested!!

I got what I assume was eczema on my eyelids after DS2. I looked terrible - all red eyed. You have my sympathies.

Hi, have you tried the distraction method? Wear v-neck tops with a necklace (sea shells and wooden beaded ones) to draw the eye away from your face. Earrings and having lucious lips also works at detracting the attention away from your eye area. Scrub your lips with a toothbrush to make them lovely and soft, then put on some vaseline to make them pouty and shiny. Top this off with sunglasses and you'll look stunning and nobody will be any the wiser of your eczema.

you poor thing - no fun at all.

I know it's not much imemdiate help but I found that glasses with a strong-coloured frame (as opposed to the rimless ones everyone has) actually stopped my eyes getting lost, and meant I needed less makeup. Worth trying your spare pair?

And definitely get a necklace or some pretty earrings - jewellery that matches your trousers can transform a random t-shirt into An Outfit and you instantly look more together for v little effort.
Vaseline as suggested below is goo, or for more colour try tinted lipbalm if you have Lipstick Fear.

pmsl - It was you that I was expecting to come along with the paper bag suggestion!!!

I've got a really nice necklace that I never wear, so I will go hunt it out, and play with the other suggestions.

Thankyou.

With the magical less worn out look though... I'm thinking maybe selling small children would work well????

well, obviously Vaseline is goo, but what I meant was it's good.
