Loreal EverSleek - is it salt/sodium chloride free?

My Brazilian kit from amazon has arrived! So excited :) I know when I wash I must only use salt free products. I already have the Loreal EverSleek range which is sulphate and silicone free. I can't see sodium chloride on the ingredients list. Can anyone confirm that yes, this range is OK to use? I don't want to make a mistake!

Thank you!

I'm sure EverSleek has sodium chloride in it - it certainly did something funny to my brazilian blow dry.

Assuming the US formulation is the same, I can see Sodium Chloride in the ingredients.

Thank you so much! Good to know. I'll just buy something else.

I think the choices mentioned here before are:

Body Shop Rainforest range
Organix Keratin range (poor reviews online)

hmmm. Not sure what to buy.

Hi, I did the Brazilian a couple of weeks ago. Tis fabulous! Swish.

The organix Argan stuff is a bit pants. The shampoo is ok and conditioner is, just okish too.

I get itchy scalp if I don't use loreal elvive intense dandruff shampoo. So I've had to go back to using that even though it contains SLS. Trying to just use it every other wash though.

Tried a tea tree shampoo from waitrose that didn't help.

Tried an apple cider vinegar rinse, that didn't help either.

I'm running out of options for SLS free itchy scalp shampoo.

Try Tresemme Keratin smooth, has been great on my very itchy scalp whereas the one recommended with the straightening kit drove me mad with itch

fififolle · 29/10/2013 19:04

Hasn't the tresemme one got salt in it? I've bought the Boots Naked one but am still on the one from the hairdressers. I'd also recommend tying your hair up at night, I found that if I was hot my hair started curling!

kittykarate · 30/10/2013 12:29

Tresemme Keratin shampoo and conditioner do not contain salt, but bizarrely, the Kerating heat protection spray does. (according to Tesco website)

Also GRRRR about manufacturers that make it really hard to find ingredients lists online.

fififolle · 30/10/2013 17:25

I wasn't sure about the ammonium chloride.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 31/10/2013 09:17

tresemme has no sodium chloride this is the only thing you need to avoid after a brazilian keratin. the organix stuff in brown bottle is pants, the cherry blossom one in pink bottle is ok. but for cheap and cheerful sainsburys kids shampoo (own brand) cherry one smells lush and is salf free, £1.39 or some such price.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 31/10/2013 09:18

oops should have said tressemme keratin smooth has no salt as others do.

fififolle · 31/10/2013 13:46

Thank you! I was a bit nervous as I had my keratin treatment done at the hairdressers and it was a bit expensive to be taking risks with!
