how to make your face look glowy instead of powdery??

I always use pressed powder on top of my foundation, I think it helps to keep it on, if I don't use it I feel like the foundation will just rub off.
However, I think my face looks too powdery and I would like to make it look more natural.
I've been looking at make up products but have no clue what I really need!
Can you share your favourite products?

It's a weird texture but somehow makes you matt but glowy
I often mix a highlighter (liquid one) into my foundation too

I don't use powder.
I swapped to EL Double Wear with cream blusher & it stays in place and I look quite dewy.

Do you have oily skin OP? If not you probably don't need to powder, or only very lightly with a loose powder.

haha, yes I probably am jus using too much powder!
It's just I've got stuck in a rut and I want to find a new foundation that really suits me, but I haven't got the time or inclination to do it!

If you're applying the powder with a powder puff or sponge, you might find that you're applying too much. A brush is better.
Loose powder is nice, but for me it's all about application - a pressed powder applied with a brush gives the same result as a loose powder applied with a brush. And as a bonus, the pressed powder is more practical to take in your bag for touch-ups during the day.

Use powder only where you need it (which is where you get shiny).

Use a powder that isn't completely matte or use a highlighting powder on top of your usual powder.

Oh and I use urban decay naked liquid foundation with a real technique stippling brush

I use a small blusher brush and a compact powder, rather than loose powder.

Don't powder all over, just T zone! then Use a face setting spray or mist after you've finished applying your makeup. 1-2 pumps from a distance with get rid of powdery ness and set make up in place. Make sure it is a fine mist spray though. Urban Decay do a few, and Body Shop Vit E one is good as a cheaper alternative.

And use primer under your foundation!

Don't use powder!I never use it and foundation doesn't budge.You just need a good foundation

It might be more than £15, but I don't bother with the primer or setting spray, so surely that's a saving.

I never use primer or setting spray.Well,I used to use primer when I had a life and could have nights out!!!

If you forgo at least one,you can spend more on foundation.I'd recommend lancome or YSL touche eclat foundation then.

If not,the best budget foundation I've ever had (and am currently using) is Barbara Daly Moisture Foundation,about £6!

I use the Nars Light Reflecting Loose Powder and then give my face a sprinkling of Meteorites for glow.

Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre - (loose powder) is very light - I use it with a Real Techniques brush.

I don't use powder at all, you don't have to, there's no rule. As long as you use a moisturiser that suits your skin, and you leave it to sink in for as long as you can before applying your foundation, it shouldn't go shiny or slide off if it's good quality. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum is ace and very glowy without being greasy - the non serum version is well reviewed on here too but I haven't tried it.

Also, don't use too much foundation! Use a bt of concealer first where needed, then just enough foundation to even out your skin. It doesn't have to be a mask. Try using half as much as usual.
