At the weekend I had the most amazing makeover which has resulted in me switching literally overnight to mac. It was amazing, from their paintpots to lipglass, I'm a massive concert.
Do u use mac skincare too, or different brands, would be keen to know what you love.

No, I love all their lip/blush/eye products/brushes, but don't rate them for skincare, foundation or mascara unfortunately.

ElizabethBathory · 28/10/2013 17:57

I do love ysl touche eclat foundation (applied with Mac 182 brush - amazing), clarins moisturiser and Max factor mascara.

ygritte · 28/10/2013 19:03

Weird...I too use Clarins (multi-active day cream) or L'Oreal Youth code and Max Factor mascara.
Don't think I'd use their skin care, although I have used the prep and prime for summer, as it isn't what they excel at

MsWinnieBaygo · 28/10/2013 19:28

Same as others - YSL foundation, Max Factor mascara (have tried a LOT of mascaras over the years) and clarins face serum, moisturiser and facial treatment oil. Use dermalogica power vitamin eye moisturiser though.

I have rediscovered my love for Mac recently too. Used to wear it alot when I was younger but then felt I had got to old.

How wrong I was. Mac makeup is fab for ageing sleep deprived skin and the trendy, funky MUA's that I have snobishly dismissed are amazing!!
I am so so so not young and funky and thought they wouldnt have a clue how to help me. I am mid 30s, sleep deprived and have just returned to work in the city. I cant have funky makeup. (I am a pearls, heels and dress with jacket kind of woman by day.)

Oh my how wrong I was - these trendy young things transformed me.

ElizabethBathory · 28/10/2013 22:05

Ygritte, yep its the multi active day cream i use too :) And mswinnie yes the Mac prep + prime SPF 50 is great in summer! A bit drying so I don't use it in winter.

ElizabethBathory · 28/10/2013 22:08

SELondon up are talking like mid 30s is ancient Shock It's young young young.

I wear MAC sometimes. Love some stuff not so much others.

Skincare I find is really personal. At the moment liking Bobbi Brown Hydrating Moisturiser and I put Nuxe SPF30 sunscreen on top.

Not impressed with L'Occitane Angelica moisturiser but been trying their various Immortelle and Divine cream samples and they're quite naice.

Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean is my go to face wash. I cleanse, tone with whatever is to hand - Naked toner (up tone girl) is nice. Any old cleanser, eye makeup remover, usually a Garnier one. I did like Clarins Orange Cleanser but bloody expensive for what it is. Serums are naice too but only for special occasions. I think I would rebuy the Nuxe one and maybe the Kiehls Midnight Secret.

THERE! Smile

HelloBoys · 28/10/2013 22:10

PS - I've got it on personal recs from a skincare expert I know (she confuses me with her advice) that eye cream by and large is waste of time/money.

just use your moisturiser there.

JennySense · 28/10/2013 22:20

Mac make up addict [apart from foundation which is Bobbi Brown]
I use Emma Hardie moringa balm for cleanser
Hydralauron
Trilogy rosehip oil
Emma Hardie night cream
Various french brands: Nuxe, Leirac
Clarins Toner
Alpha H Liquid Gold

singaporeswing · 29/10/2013 05:36

I use their cleansing oil to take off most of the layer of makeup/grime and then Alpha H products to cleanse. Swear by Origins moisturiser.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 29/10/2013 06:05

MAC make up but YSL teint éclat foundation.
Elemis skin care.

thepurplepenguin · 29/10/2013 08:46

Clarins moisturiser (Hydraquench), Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean cleanser.

Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser and Max Factor mascara.

I like MAC shadows, lip stick, lip gloss and blusher. Find Sleek at Superdrug to be an excellent dupe though.

thepurplepenguin · 29/10/2013 08:47

I like the texture of the ysl foundation too but can't find a colour match, boo.

HelloBoys · 31/10/2013 21:01

I tend to use a variety of makeup from Chanel to maybelline and Mac.

Quite like Clinique compact foundation and their air brush/flash. Love collection 2000 mascara super size but for mornings. Love mac cosmo lipstick but I have pigmented l lips. Mac something special Creme blush is a staple. I also like bare minerals big and bright eyeliner in espresso and body shop eyeliner in navy. Have rediscovered ysl faux cils mascara. For night I like Virgin vie smoky eye palette and Clinique pink chocolate eyeshadow palette. But I also match outfit eg dress to eyeshadow sometimes eg teal with teal.

Which reminds me got a Bobbi brown silver metal color eyeshadow I've yet to try!
