Need wellies for toddler with tall, fat feet

My two year old DS has large feet which are wide and have a huge instep. I just can't find a pair of wellies which I can manoeuvre his feet into! We've tried Startrite, Crocs, some other expensive brand whose name escapes me - I just can't get his tall foot to turn the corner into the boot if that makes any sense! Dies anyone else have experience of unconventional feet and wellies?

Have you tried Aigle? Expensive, but good for wide feet. Not sure about high instep... but worth a look perhaps

We've had success with Hatley ones here. They are a bit more of a generous fit than others - may be the ones you've already tried though as they're certainly expensive. The others we've had that were great were cheapos from our local farm supply shop (possibly called Target Dry?) - might be worth a look if you have somewhere like that near you.

Ooh more to check out! Thank you. It's the high instep causing the problem, I think. His feet are just so 'tall'.

My ds is 2 and in size 9 1/2 with H width fitting. He doesn't have a particularly high instep but we do have trouble getting his feet in wellies because of the width. We've actually had most luck with Sainsbury's ones in a half size up, they're inexpensive but have found them reasonable quality.

Does he have to have wellies? Could you buy him waterproof boots instead?

Joules wellies are worth a punt. They're not very tall so easier to wiggle into.

I feel your pain is an i width with a really tall instep. Doodles were the widest ones we found, plus they have handles for better yanking!

In other wide foot news, I found sketchers to be really good. I don't even bother trying him in clark's. They just keep telling me to keep going up a half size until they're like flippers.

Start-rite fit, but I find they don't stand up to wear and tear very well. The sketchers seem to last and last and are lovely and wide. Plus the velcro is long so it fits over his foot.

I used Stonz at age 2, then wellies a size too big on very wet days as she got older and the soft style of the Stinz seemed a bit babyish. Never found anything as comfy or as easy to put or or as reliably waterproof as the Stonz, though.
