Urgent help needed... Lori lee dress?

Help!!! I am going to a family wedding on Saturday and I have nothing to wear. I did buy a dress (a lady vintage Hepburn dress in mocha/white spots but I have been told that it is not suitable by MIL and OH as it is too cheap!!!) I was going to be defiant and wear it anyway but I feel like I should keep the peace really. She has also very kindly sent me some money to buy a new one.
However... Two little ones and living in the middle of nowhere means I am fully reliant on Internet shopping and I also need it to come by Thursday. No time for returns so it is going to be a gamble no matter what dress I buy.
I am also still breastfeeding DD2 - but I have given up trying to find a dress to breastfeed in as they are all hideous. Luckily I have a room in the place where the wedding is so will slope off when needed.

Anyway, I was/am looking at the Lori lee dress from coast. I wanted the short navy but they don't have my size (12) which leaves a grey colour or a brighter blue. I am not keen on the blue but feel like the grey will wash me out. They have the long version in navy .. But I think it might be a it much for a wedding. Is it?

Blue m.coast-stores.com///coast/fcp-product/2224796715#GBP

(Sorry if links don't work - am on phone and never done them before!)

I am a flabby size 12 - definite pear and quite fair skinned. I am just after opinions really and would welcome any other dresses to consider. Thanks

It's a beautiful dress. I prefer the navy too but the blue is quite nice.

peachesandpickles · 27/10/2013 20:01

There is a navy size 14 on Very.co.uk. Would it be way too big?

Do John Lewis or anywhere else stock Coast?

atomicyoghurt · 27/10/2013 20:02

I really like the blue

Clargo55 · 27/10/2013 20:05

ASOS stock Coast and they have 10% off today.

I have looked at most online shops for a 12. I used to be a 14 not so long ago and am still wearing 14 stuff... But it is a lot of money to spend on a dress that doesn't fit right. Also as I am hoping my weight continues to reduce (lovely breastfeeding!!) I do t want to never wear it again IYSWIM. I am not a bright colour wearer... The blue looks a bit bright and maybe meant for a younger person perhaps. What about the grey?

P.s I have recently bought the Coast Combe Navy blue dress from ASOS and its lovely.

eurochick · 27/10/2013 20:08

I tried it on last week and it's lovely. I'm a 10-12 and I tried it in the maxi grey and it made me look a little hippy (might have been better with heels) when I am not at all, and the knee length sky blue, which I loved and almost bought. It was the second choice out of the vast amount of stuff I looked at, but I felt it was a bit wedding-y when I was looking for a party frock, so it sounds perfect for you.

peachesandpickles · 27/10/2013 20:09

Totally understandable about the size. I'm not great on colours - maybe if you describe your colouring someone could help you decide about the grey.

MissTriangle · 27/10/2013 20:17

Well that's the maxi ruled out. Thanks for letting me know Eurochick, I definitely need to help in looking hippy!

I am blonde, blue eyes and fair. But in a pinky skin tone rather than blue ... If that makes sense. Nude colours do nothing for me but I do suit whites/creams. I can't decide if the grey is more a nude colour or a silver ... If silver I may be okay.
I am going to need to buy it tonight... Ahhh!
