Please help me break free of the breastfeeding frump!

Unaccustomed as I am to this part of mumsnet, I write with a humble request for help please!

My DS is 3 months old and having made my peace with breastfeeding, I'm looking to continue for quite some time.

The weight has fallen off me so I'm nearly back at pre preg weight, but my shape is very different - fat thighs, hips still wide, tummy pretty flat and I now have boobs for the first time in my life.

Sooo this is my wardrobe: a grey and navy 3/4 sleeve top from H&M, a royal blue wrap top from Mamas and Papas (size 12), and a grey and navy jersey dress from Mothercare (12) that was bought for me. All three are now hanging off me- the top panels droop down and show the top of my bra.

I have one old pair of navy cords (10) from Gap that I wear with all of the above plus my Cat style boots. Occasionally I wear leggings (when cords have too much sick on them). My pre preg jeans are size 8 and don't go past mid thigh at present.

I'm desperate to start wearing some nicer stuff but everything on the high street (when I can find any ranged that aren't 'online only' as seems to be the norm) is short sleeved, or utterly frumpy and yuk.

Surely I don't have to be consigned to the sartorial scrapheap for the next 3/4 months before I go back to work?

Any ideas please? I don't have a huge budget and hate online clothes shopping (so much faff while I don't know what sizes I need), although I appreciate this may be the only option.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if my experience is of use to you. I got two pair of new jeans, but wear my old tops. I'm not sure why everything is short sleeved? Do you mean the breastfeeding tops? You don't need them. Wear a vest with thin straps or a boob top underneath. Pull up your normal jumper or top, pull down the vest or boob top. Now you gave a little peep hole to feed.

I bought my jeans from h&m as they are cheap. Ended up wearing them for a year until I stopped breastfeeding. I was one size smaller btw. You might continue to lose weight given you are only 3 months in.

Thanks OneLittle - all my old tops are too small. I was so flat chested that I used to wear fitted t-shirts to give myself some shape.

I tried the jumper-vest trick but need to buy a load of big vests and baggy jumpers to make it work - plus it's nowhere near as discreet.

May be my only feasible option.

I did nearly buy some jeans last week, but didn't as thought I had the same size and style at home. Got home to find my old jeans were an 8 not a 10. Fail!

I actually think if you get some tops and vests in matching colours it's way more discrete to feed that way than with a nursing top, but I do have both.

I had these rooti tooti ones last time though and they were a lot more fitted than the frugi and H&m ones
