Shoes to go with silver cocktail dress

I have this dress in silver. m.nordstrom.com/product/Details/3582297
I want to wear it to an Xmas 'do'. Now I am not happy with my legs so would choose black (opaque if poss) tights AND I just cannot wear heels. Maybe a small kitten one at best. So what can you all recommend?? I am 5ft 8 in, size 12 with cankles!!
