Grrr..why ruin a really nice (imo) pair of boots with this monstrosity on the back...?!

Loved the unusual green colour and style, then I saw the pic of how they look from the back! Angry

Can only show main pic, look at the thumbnails to see them from the back (just unsightly and necessary):

I quite like the bit at the back, but it wouldn't be very practical if under jeans as would make them stick out a bit.

LalyRawr · 24/10/2013 18:53

Ugh I hate it when they do stuff like this.

I hate the new trend of visible zips. So you have a really pretty dress, but on the back is a huge gold zip running down half the material. Like this. Really irritates me!

OneLittleLady · 24/10/2013 18:54

I actually like them Blush

gindrinker · 24/10/2013 18:55

I like them.
You'd tuck them into skinny jeans to deliberately show the bow.
I also like exposed zips. I was admiring someone's boots which had a zip up the back.

Jbck · 24/10/2013 18:57

I think it makes the boots, gives them an edge over every other flat ankle boot.

Jbck · 24/10/2013 18:58

I hate the zip thing tho!

LeoandBoosmum · 24/10/2013 18:58

Laly, totally agree! Last year, Whistles had some gorgeous dresses which were all ruined by a very obvious, garish zip running the entire length at the back! They have not done it this year Smile - maybe people complained! IMO, it makes stuff look cheap!

Porpoise, I hate it... I think you'd be forever fiddling with them to try to make the bow look discreet. They could have just had a shortish, understated flap as the first, main photo suggests :( It would limit what you could wear with them too...such a shame as I adore the colour. It seems to be the only women's pair from that brand in that shade too...

I like the bow on the back too. Just makes them a bit more interesting than a plain boot. I also like exposed zips too!

LeoandBoosmum · 24/10/2013 19:01

Btw, Whistles were doing the zips the entire back length of the dress like this:

Grrrr...

I think the rear is the best bit!

JaxTellerIsAllMine · 24/10/2013 19:04

I quite like them but I can see how they would be annoying if you wear bootcut jeans/trousers.

I am a huge hater of the stupid zips on dresses. I know its 'fashion' but I dont like that at all.

ThePorpoiseOfStupidity · 24/10/2013 19:35

Here are some other ones I've found without a bow bit but might be wrong colour/bit plain.

mammadiggingdeep · 24/10/2013 19:35

I really like them....
Think they'd be a bit boring without a 'feature'

Matsikula · 24/10/2013 20:43

I am not madly keen on the bow, but the exposed zips I am quite sure are to make something look very 'now' and hence very dated in 2 years' time so that you have to buy something new. It is very annoying when they whack them on something like a cocktail-type dress which you won't wear often. I am trying to avoid just this problem right now.

SundaySimmons · 24/10/2013 20:45

They look like children's boots! Hideous.

LeoandBoosmum · 24/10/2013 21:16

Thanks, Purpoise... I do like those but prefer the blackened green of the originals I posted. Hard colour to find but you did pretty well there! :)
Oh, well, Sunday, it would be a boring world if we all liked the same stuff :)
Thanks everyone!

I love the Hudson boots and yes they'd be gorgeous with skinnies.
(Do you have to undo the 'bows' to take them off and on?)

My pet hate at the moment is trimming nice things with random pleather.
Very dating IMHO.

trixymalixy · 24/10/2013 22:13

I love those boots. I've got them pinned to my pinterest board except in a tan colour.
