So annoyed with H&M (and Clarks and lots of other retailers)

I saw a link to a jacket in the H& Plus range linked on here and I decided to order it.

Since I live in Ireland and H&M don't deliver here I used Parcel Motel. The order went through fine on 19th October.

I got an email today telling me my order has been cancelled as they don't deliver to PO Boxes.

It's so bloody annoying. I had the same problem with Clarks recently.

My card was accepted and I paid the delivery charge so I cannot understand the issue.

They don't sell online on the .ie site and the jacket I like isn't in Irish stores.

Hi it's me who suggested pm to you originally, I remember your post about the clarks boots! Sorry it's become a right palaver. Would h&m deliver it to a store here in Ireland for you even?

YDdraigGoch · 23/10/2013 15:38

Do you have to use a PO box? Can you have the parcel delivered to your actual address, or to someone else's address? They probably need to get it signed for.

AndTwoBits · 23/10/2013 15:39

I was just looking online at parcel motel'swebsite and the address they give you to use when a company doesn't ship to Ireland is a newtownabbey address, a proper address like, not a po address..

peachesandpickles · 23/10/2013 15:41

Andtwobits I couldn't remember who suggested it! No need to apologise. The Parcel Motel side of things is great. We ordered a few bits from the Early Learning Centre for dd2 and it worked perfectly. They don't deliver to Ireland normally and I couldn't get the things I wanted here.

I just don't get why these companies are turning down paying customers. If the credit card payment works and Parcel Motel are clearly a legitimate business then what is their problem?

Maybe it's the fact that I got my Clarks boots for just over €100 delivery included from a UK site but would have paid €50 or €60 quid more for them here.

The site I wish to purchase from does not ship to the Republic of Ireland; can I still receive my delivery to the Parcel Motel?

Yes. You can receive deliveries from sites which only ship to the UK by giving the UK Parcel Motel address (below) and it will arrive at your local Parcel Motel in the Republic of Ireland. The cost for this is the same as it is for the Irish address.

Your Name
Your PM ID
Parcel Motel
1A McKinney Rd
Newtownabbey
BT36 4PE

Is this any help to you at all? Taken from their site..

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 23/10/2013 15:44

How annoying.

Send them to me - I'll forward them on!

peachesandpickles · 23/10/2013 15:44

Thanks andtwobits thats the address I used. I have emailed H&M to see what the story is. I'll let you know how it goes.

I spoke to someone in Clarks a few weeks ago. He was lovely but couldn't be of any help.

I'd have to travel to get to a H&M and it makes it too expensive.

That is so frustrating peaches

LeoandBoosmum · 23/10/2013 16:38

Maybe you didn't see it? I sent you a PM with a link to those Clarks boots brand new on Ebay sending worldwide (seller had good feedback and accepted returns). I do recall telling you that you may have problems with Parcel Motel because of the payment stage difficulties at Clarks checkout.

peachesandpickles · 23/10/2013 16:44

Hi Leo, I got the boots!! I started a thread for you but I don't think you saw it. It was from Bells Shoes from one of your links.

They gave excellent customer service. They didn't have the wide fit in stock but ordered them for me from Clarks and sent them on - no extra charge other than reasonable delivery cost. I'll definitely use them again.

Thanks so much, I love my boots.

I'll try to find the thread.

I wondered what happened because you disappeared from the thread and didn't reply to my PM... I assumed you'd managed to get things sorted with Clarks and PM...

LeoandBoosmum · 23/10/2013 16:52

Awww..I didn't see that. Thank you. That was very nice of you :)
So, you did at least manage to get a pair? That's great!
H&M need to get their act together! Have you checked Ebay for the jacket? Maybe worth a shot or come Christmas shopping in England :)

LeoandBoosmum · 23/10/2013 16:53

Oh, I see...you did get pair! I must learn to read entire threads before posting! Grin
