This is my first grey hair, isn't it?

Asking for advice from brunettes turned silver vixens here...

I've just uploaded a picture on my profile. Spotted a little grey bastard after my bath and now it's distracting me from GBBO. Angry

Wish I was a blonde so it wouldn't show so much! How long before I go grey all over? Should I start dyeing it all again? Waaaah!

I've had just one grey hair for 5 years, I worried when I first saw it but it's still just one.

JemimaGina · 22/10/2013 20:40

Oh that's reassuring Odd - thought they spread like wildfire once they started coming.

I found my first grey when I was 33. I'm now 46, and still only have a few. Certainly not enough for me to start dyeing it.

JemimaGina · 22/10/2013 22:05

This is reassuring Thanks Anyone else?

Jeez I wish I only had the one, my hair is pure white now and I'm only 37! Confused Having dyed my hair dark brown for 25 years and now growing it out literally from almost black to almost white I'd avoid colouring it if you can

WildThongsHeartString · 22/10/2013 22:36

Ha....wait til your pubes follow suit, then you can worry Grin

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 22/10/2013 22:40

was about to say the same as wildthong.. my first pure white pube shocked me more!!

MedusaIsHavingaBadHairday · 22/10/2013 23:21

And white eyebrow hairs... just WHY? They really piss me off Grin
(45 here and have a grey streak and a few wild ones..contemplating going natural.. only I have no idea what my natural is!)

FergusSingsTheBlues · 23/10/2013 04:40

Dont worry! Ive had a white o e since I was 14. I yank it out once a year....I'm 39 and still just the one

GobblersKnob · 23/10/2013 06:49

I started going grey in my very early twenties, but coloured my hair consistently from the age of 14 so never really noticed. I am now 38 and sport my natural hair colour and have surprisingly little grey. In all honesty I wish i had stopped dying years ago, it is many years since I enjoyed it, (I used to dye it all the colours under the sun and that was fun) and have only really done it because I knew I had grey.

NomDeOrdinateur · 23/10/2013 11:04

I got my first at 13. Ten years later, I have an obvious mallen streak above my right eye, and I can see a few silvers starting to creep in over left eye too. It only became obvious to others last year, and apparently it looks cool so I'm just going with it Grin.

Pandsbear · 23/10/2013 11:08

I have one white hair on my parting (of course). Despite intensive investigations I can't find a.n.other at the moment... I did have slight drama-queen hysterics when I found it. Am 42.

JemimaGina · 23/10/2013 14:05

In the interests of disclosure, am 31. Envy all of you who got first grey in your 40s!

If, if I get greys south of the border, I will either book in for laser treatment or if I chicken out sport something similar to this...

PinocchiosLeftNostril · 23/10/2013 14:08

Well, I got my first grey hair at 23. In fact, i noticed three of them!

I'm now 24, and yesterday i pulled out another four!

They catch the light and are so noticeable because my hair is dark brown.

I can see my full head being grey by the time I'm 30.

JemimaGina · 23/10/2013 14:21

I just went au naturale over the summer and now this. it's a little crappy regrowth hair that sticks out when I tie it back. I never thought finding a grey would put the wind up me like this! Am considering highlights now - thoughts?

You should've seen DH last night suppressing a smirk as he told me 'you still look beautiful' the twat. This is what I get for marrying a toy boy Hmm

ElizabethBathory · 23/10/2013 16:51

Don't panic Jemima, my DH has had the same two grey hairs for ten years now! Just pluck it out and hope no more turn up :)

birdybear · 23/10/2013 17:05

you know don't you, that if you pull a grey hair out, seven more come to it's funeral...as the saying goes ! :-)
