I like the colour :) but do they look frumpalicious!?! Hmm
I am 38 if that matters...

Don't like them at all, have you tried knee length boots? I always think they look great with knitted dresses.

rootypig · 22/10/2013 05:43

Love the colour too but think the shape is frumpsome. Same boot in a flat would be infinitely better.

LeoandBoosmum · 22/10/2013 05:53

Hi IAmNoAngel,
I have some knee length boots but I never reach for them tbh...
I really wanted to rock some cute ankle boots this winter Wink

Yeah, rooty, I think it's the colour I love... If they were black or brown I don't think I'd give them a second glance...
Also have my eye on these (and a 10% off code):

or these (but with them being a boot I think I'd be a 36 and they're sold out..cant find another stockist either! Maybe they'll come back in stock but I'm not sure they'll go with knitted dresses and skirts anyway, seeing as I'm only 5ft3 :(:

Like both those pairs MUCH better, especially the last ones. I am a short arse and wear flat boots because they are comfy and cool and I pretend my legs don't look like two stumps. Is a 36 not a size 4? they have them....

I am such an enabler Grin

LeoandBoosmum · 22/10/2013 06:21

Grin Nope a 36 is a three... I'm always dead confused when it comes to buying boots online... In shoes I'm more often than not a 37 but in boots I'm usually a 36.5 because they tend to come up larger. It honestly varies so much from brand to brand and even within the same brand, from style to style sometimes. I have Hobbs' boots in a 37 and Hobbs' ballet flats in a 36... I guess I could try the 37 and hope the 36 comes back into stock if they run big... It'd be handy if Asos had customer reviews on stuff - like Boden does - cos that's usually a big help... Ah, well... Plenty more glorious boots around...
:)

Sorry op but yes they're frumpy . There are lots of nicer boots about for the money (can't link on phone)

Have you considered a wedge heel? These tend to look less frumpy disclaimer: doesn't apply in all cases.

rootypig · 22/10/2013 06:31

you have tiny feet Shock!

IAmNoAngel · 22/10/2013 06:32

Agree those are much nicer than the first link, love the 'duo footwear' ones. they'd look great!

LeoandBoosmum · 22/10/2013 06:42

Thanks Cupcake but wedge boots remind me of those built-up shoes kids seemed to wear in the 70s (you don't see them now) Grin

I'm probably just getting old!
Yep, rooty, I have tiny feet and tiny hands...totally out of proportion with my enormous backside Grin
I may give the Duo ones a go since I have a code and they are the ones I keep coming back to. My only concern is that they come up high at the back and may make my stumpy little legs look even shorter! :)
I will ring Duo tomorrow and ask if I should go for a 36 or 37 as they don't do half sizes! Grrr..
Thanks again :)

I think they are neither frumpy or fab....they look like a variation on the Acne Pistol/Ash Jalouse/Chelsea that seems to be everywhere at the moment. They are a safe option, they'll look fine with a knitted dress.

I think someone had a 20% off Duoboots here yesterday.....
