I hardly ever dress up but here I am with this lovely navy dress.www.phase-eight.co.uk/fcp/product/phase-eight/Dresses/Claire-Pleat-Dress/202270351

I'm 5'5 size 10/12 apple shaped, dark hair, blue eyes.

I have bought navy shoeboots from M and S. Annoyingly I can't link to them as they are not on the website. They are navy suede with a mid heel. They match the dress exactly.

So far it's all a bit safe. I have no idea what tights to wear. What sort of bag? What sort of top over the dress? Jewellery ideas?

That's a lovely dress.

You could go with nude tights, depending on the boots, if they are more of a boot than a shoe, then possibly darker tights.

I think a navy clutch bag would work well.

I would wear simple earrings and a bracelet.

What sort of party is it - sort of venue, etc?

MairzyDoats · 21/10/2013 23:48

Lovely dress but I think maybe you're playing it a bit safe with navy shoes? What about something totally contrasting like fuchsia? Do you need anything over the top? Definitely nude tights.

I agree with adding fuchsia but if you are not that brave you could go with silver and silver jewellery. But to play safe; a navy clutch bag but with a bit of sparkle on it and a navy wrap or pashmina (Accessorise). You can get navy sparkly jewellery at the moment too.
