What to wear with a short brown kilt?

I bought a cute little kilt from Sainsburys - www.sainsburys-live-well-for-less.co.uk/tu-clothing/products/women/brown-check-kilt/ , to wear with tights and boots. I didn't think of what to wear on top. I'm usually a skinny jeans and boots girl so most of my clothes are long tops which would look silly, as the skirt sits fairly high on waist and has those little buckles at the top.
Please help, I'm useless once I'm out of my tried and tested uniforms.

I love the description of 'will make your legs look slimmer'! (Does it?) I would wear a navy crew neck jumper with it as it looks like one of the stripes is navy.

Hmm not sure they look thinner! Its quite short, shorter than I'd usually wear but I thought OK with dark tights.

LittleMiss...that's a pretty kilt :) I'm only 5ft3 so I fear it would look too long and a little frumpy on me, very nice though!

Leo it is a lot shorter than it looks in the picture. I am 5ft 4 and it's about 3 inches above my knee. It's lined too.

lovely kilt! jealous, I liked this but sold out in my size in my local store. I'd wear a brown or cream jumper, either big and chunky or a fitted polo. or a lambswool v neck and a flowery blouse!

It looks grey on my iPad but I really like it! I'd wear it with a fitted knit/jersey top and a big scarf. Can't advise on colour as it looks grey to me!
